Ferrari International Assistance strikes again.

Vettel writes (another) apology and gets (another) wet bus ticket.

The FIA notes this commitment, the personal apology made by Sebastian Vettel and his pledge to make that apology public. The FIA also notes that Scuderia Ferrari is aligned with the values and objectives of the FIA.

It does beg the question... Where is the bar set on behaviour that would merit a DQ or race ban?

I think it said that the 10 second stop and go was the step below a black flag

And what if this was done at high speed? Ramming a car at 250k? To me, its identical as ramming at at walking speed. If something cracked, then later at 250k it broke, that's massively dangerous

TBH, the many references to "walking speed" being held up as a mitigating factor bug me a great deal. (Note: Not picking on your comment here - just commentary in general)

Firstly, it wasn't walking speed at all. The impacts occurred at approx. 50kph - that's faster than the fastest man on earth at his fastest :-)

Secondly, and more importantly, the cars were being held at that speed by the safety car BECAUSE of an increased danger on the track. Driving in such a manner while behind the safety car is potentially *just as dangerous* as ramming at race pace on a "green" circuit. (Not only placing the drivers at risk, but also the safety marshalls who are most likely working on track while the SC ostensibly keeps the drivers in an orderly procession.)

I agree, walking speed in my comment was my comment, not based on the actual incident, just to show that a very low speed impact can cause damage that can fail at racing speeds.

Yep, the average speed was the safety cars, but the drivers were repeatedly slowing and speeding up to maintain temperature in the tyres and brakes.

Vettel expected Hamilton to speed up, but Hamilton has the right to dictate the speed following the safety car.

Nobody has the right to pull along side and ram into another driver because he wasn't happy about something.

Is Hamilton cracking? He is bypassing the Trafalgar exhibition event, his name was jeered because of that and Bottas has been faster in both sessions. Given his personality of best day ever when he wins and sulks when he doesnt, and that Bottas is a match for him, it begs the question if his delicate personality will be what costs him a potential title.

I was surprised Lewis let Bottas through, he could have used the gap and Verstappen to not be able to, so good on him

This was a Ferrari track, but Mercs race pace made it not a Ferrari track. Maybe Lewis felt that hey I can afford a few points as we are close on their track.

I feel Merc are back in front by a small but solid margin
