How about Lewis going on about how dangerous Alonso's blocking was "at that speed". I literally yelled at the TV when that came up during the race.
Alonso was amazing.

100% he was. A reminder that despite his age and his car he is the best driver on the grid. Talk about a clash in class and humility. He needs to be in a good car, replacing Perez would be a nice swansong for him and good for RBR. Go back to McLaren but I guess Danny Ricc is locked in there.

A dodgems strategy is a very worthwhile consideration
Definitely a solid use of the B car

Rare for Lewis to be behind a car he can't just overtake in an instant or punt off to get around.

Perez has done better than the likes of Albon at handling the pressure of the main red bull team, but doesn't have much to show from it.
Gasly would be a solid driver now, much stronger mentally, but whomever goes there IS going to be the second driver to Max and needs to be ok with that.
Norris is the future of McLaren, but that hasn't come to a clash at all this year with Daniel not performing anywhere near fighting each other.
A lot going on next year with changes and Honda exiting/handing over the keys to Red Bull to develop their own engine.
Drive to Survive has some solid content for Netflix this year so far.
George Russell continues to impress at the back, emotionally moved to see the team scoring points.
Can't dismiss him nearly winning in Hamiltons car when he was out with Covid.
That says a lot about how much the car performance contributes to the winners. Can't be a champion driver without a championship winning car.
Really interesting to see Alonso's performance, again eking every bit of performance out of whatever car he's handed. Impressive stuff.

I'd say 1990s-era Schumacher proved that the best driver can make horrible machinery do amazing things. If you were being unkind, you could compare Schumacher's non-championship years with Hamilton's. Of course, this involves being objective about Hamilton and Schumacher (i.e. not just lazily dismissing him as a cheat, thank you jaded ex-team mates on Sky F1) that the English-speaking world doesn't seem to do very well.
On that, the car is huge, after all its a car championship that's all that matters to the teams, that's where funding comes from. Biggest team usually have the best car and pay the best drivers. Then you have the dodgy stuff, like this year. and when Schummy crashes at the turn into the Monaco straight in quali, so he holds onto pole. Rosberg the same at Mirabeau. True racing seems pretty rare these days, there are a lot of other things used in the recipe that can impact the POINTS more. But I guess thats no different to any other time, its a political sport in every respect.
Of interest would be using the GP 2 or 3 cars as a quali race. I forget which are pretty standard for all drivers. Or make a cheap set of A1GP cars, all identical. Each driver takes turn at pole, 2, 3 etc through that season. But Im dreaming as Id like a Drivers Championship as well as a car builder championship
the media and alpine keep saying Alonso helped Ocon win the race.
actually he was trying to help max

Batman:
4. take out all your team's direct rivals causing millions of dollars in damage to direct rivals - no penalty
He got a 5 place grid drop. He is never a Championship contender but he works well with the team...
just read that both ferraris have to take a 10 grid penalty each for engine change as a result of the crash.
ferrari boss suggests the team that causes these crashes pay for the damage so not to impact on the budget cap of the affected team

interested to see what happens in 2nd half of the races

video showing lewis doing a max on max.
my question - will there be more accidents?
