floydbloke:

Too difficult to watch for me, I've switched to the Phoenix game.  Kelly-Heald will be paying for Paulsen's drinks for the next couple of weeks I'd say.

I cant watch NZ football after watching NZ get OWNED by aus in that friendly last week. The socceroos just press so well and make us look like pure amateur, like we dont have the basic skill set, let alone know how to cross and score. That bent free kick over the wall that hit the post was even covered by their goalie.

GP got Warner, who knows, if they get 3 more it could get the score back down to 330ish.

Edit: oh dear the aussies making Rachin look like the part time spinner that he is.

GP the golden arm clean bowls the danger man Head, middle stump. If only NZ had another bowler they could turn too.

GP another, gets Smith, what a bowler, holds his nerve and hits the spot ball after ball. Sadly only 1 over left. With Santner going at 10rpo its scary who to chose.

Aus could still easily get to 400 if they go after the quicks once GP is gone. But looking more like 350 now, brilliant from GP, has given NZ hope.

Mitchell drops the setup sitter, flap sake. That was it, NZs only chance to get this below 350.

If it wasnt for aus first ten overs, NZ would have been in this, and we dont drop sitters.

Lockie hit 154kph in his 3rd over and has been off the field since, I hope its not a back injury.

Its nearly down to 7rpo, good work off the back of GP, if the rest can make amends for the first 14ov

Finally Santner gets one, after getting belted to the boundary. But Maxwell prefers spinners, this could be dangerous vs Santner and Rachin.

Maxwells won it back for aus, destroying Rachin and Santner.

Brilliant thinking Neesham, I dont know why bowlers just keep bowling into Maxwells arc, hes not super man if you just think about where he wants it.

Well, into the bowlers, NZ could get this down to 350 still.

Rachin now drops dead set sitter, next ball 6, and the next. NZ fielding has sucked, as has the bowling outside GP who now drops a diving catch (forgive him for that one). Neesham looked pissed at the end of the over.

GP takes the next one, diving forward to catch it, bit easier but still a good catch.

If Blackcaps win this would be a miracle. Tomorrow morning All Blacks vs South Africa. I hope it won’t be 2 losses in a row.

yeh, not gonna happen, we never scored close to 400. although boult 3 wickets in over might keep it below 400 lol.

i will be gutted if we lose to Sa given they only won by one point in each of the last two finals matches with the boring style of rugby, only one back in their bench tells you its all kick it in the air, hope then defend, rinse repeat, zero backline footy.

Well he bowled him, but wow, NZ let them get away, we bowled rubbish, we fielded rubbish and aus made the most of it. to be honest, rubbish cataincy.

Sounds like Fergs done his achilles or strained it. edit: Doull now saying its a straind calf. just glad its not his back.

so now we have ten wickets to score 388 bahaha.

aus are building through the WC, could be in the final. NZ need to get the next game to get back on track.

Rachin to make up for the bowling and drops, given the situation, needs 120 off 60, if Conway or Young does similar, you never know as thats what the aussies started with, but if they fail, no chance, if there is one haha.

edit: the swing NZ chose to bowl for but wasnt there, is now there for aus, might be the clouds coming over the mountains.

Wow Rachin. You made up big with the bat. We still in it while hes there. eeeek dropped caught n bowled. I feel the team is one genuine batsman light, lots of all rounder.

ugggh Phillips, u better than that. if we get to ten ov needing 90 and rachin still there, we have a chance

Oh what a shame Rachin, nz were evens if it can be believed. one of the best innings vs this aussie team Ive seen.

NZ dont have Ferguson if needed either. He may be able to use a runner.

98 from 60 needed. Is up to Nesham now. But very unlikely.

So close!
Neesham batted well but just couldn’t get us home.
Lost by 5 runs.
