CYaBro: We’ll never know now if Pakistan could have chased 402 as they won on the DLS thanks to rain.
Id like to know the stats of DLS chasers. Chasing 402 word be RARE. DLS chasers I feel would not be rare. The DLS chase in this game should been super hard, was it?

as far DLS, yes and no, DLS hinges on wickets a lot. Either way they had to keep that partnership going to the end. Bit of moot point in this game.
So its kind of irrelevant other than DLS imo is worse than having draws in cricket.
Pak still did amazing to get to 200 without losing either of their two linch pins, so congrats to them imo.

Yes and No? Was batting a 50 over innings tp get 402 equal to the DLS result last night?

Yes and No lol
You cant predict what could have been, they could have lost a wicket next ball and folded.
402 is a fairly rare score, close to NZ's highest ever where Guptil got that 239.
I will say, whether he got out next ball our not Faqar was beyond the result, and as highest scorer deserved man of the match.
Wow, so glad I didnt stay up to watch this game.
Ind posting a pretty good 326, could have been more given the opening start they got. Kohli a ton on his Birthday :-)
But to see Saf clear short comings displayed, posting there lowest score in WC history of 83, yes, just 83, it is fairly obvious they struggle chasing scoreboard pressure.
It makes me feel somewhat better about our loss to Saf but worse in some ways, perhaps an oppurtunity lost with them.
I definitely think now aussies are the other team to beat and if they make the final they have a knack of converting Finals to wins.
SL vs Ban, tonight, will be a very important match. If SL win this, then beat NZ they will leap frog both NZ and Pak for 4th place spot.
If SL lose tonight, NZ can still lose their final match and make the 4th spot if Eng beat Pak. Clearly NZ will want to take destiny in their own hands an beat SL thus locking in the 4th spot with superior run rate regardless of what Pak does (outside winning by 300)

CYaBro: Not Black Caps related but what do people think of the Timed Out dismissal of Angelo Matthew’s in the SL vs BD game tonight?
First time a player has been dismissed in that manner in international cricket.
I'd like to see the replay of the whole incident but on first appearances it's pretty wild.

ICC need to change the rules. From replay it showed the strap breaking when he was trying to adjust it. Shouldn’t have been penalised for it. A batters safety should be the number 1 priority. Imagine if it was a fast bowler and he got hit on the helmet with the strap broken.
I’m expecting the ICC will be changing the rules after this match or tournament.
There are now a host of teams who could make the final should NZ lose to SL, world cups can get real busy at at the pointy end.
I dont want to be left hoping if we can make it, NZ need to beat SL and by a fair bit to make Pak beating Eng and goiing through on NRR, its already VERY unlikely, first lets get the win and if we have wickets in hand put the foot down like we did the aus and Pak game.
So Lockie was 50/50 the last match, KJ had replaced Henry (yet we left it to the spinners).
I would expect Lockie to be ready by SR lanka. But with KJs steepling bounce he could be a handful. I would pick whichever of the two has the least likelihood to reinjure themselves.
Handle9: The 4th umpire has said the 2 minutes had expired before the strap came loose. Even so it’s still not great.
Yep. Whilst not quite an underarm Ban cap did say he would do whatever it takes to win. I dont think they will win the team award for playing in the spirit of the game. I guess rules are rules, this is a comp that tied a WC but gave it to Eng, who dont have the class too say it was tied even when it was stated NZ did not want to share the cup.
If Lockie can come back from the achilles strain. Or KJ can channel his breaking on to the see form, the two back injuries. If either one can contribute, NZ could go far with its batting. along with Phillips having that ball that moves to leg stump off heading down leg side line, which has opened up many of the best. Santher hard to get away too which frustrates the wickets.
We playing SL in the same place, Bangaluru. If we play this just like Pak did and target the shorter boundaries for aerial shots, we should post into the 300s+. If SL bat first, we need to be smarter about their containment, if we keep them to below 300, wickets in hand we should chase hard to make that NRR of ours even more impenetrable. Hopefully Eng win or keep it close, unlikely as it seems
Well that was either one the greatest innings ever or the biggest choke job. Probably a bit of both.
Maxwell was insane.
