Really dumb rugby by Wgtn, kept the ball in hand way too much in very wet slippery conditions... in those type of conditions it's crucial to kick a lot more for position/territory.
My Lord Canterbury had a terrible game. I can't recall the last time I saw a team make so many mistakes and give away so many penalties. I think it was 13 handling errors and 16 penalties, it may even have been more! They are totally lucky the scoreline wasn't way worse, and reflects a pretty OK last 20 minutes to get back within 7 for a losing bonus point. Conditions were awful, but Taranaki were so much more accurate. Hard to believe that is the same team from the last fortnight where they thrashed their last two opponents. You could see Taranaki really wanted that win.
Oof Auckland lost to Bay of Plenty as well. Two surprising results for the two top teams.
Looking forward to Tasman vs Canterbury this Friday evening, I am hoping the weather is nice and we get to see two teams getting to run the ball.
Tasman look a bit shaky this season so far, they are missing quite a few players and having to fill some spaces held by people like Havilli etc...

Cant. & Waikato were far too good in the forwards.
ROUND 4 - Tasman v Cant - highlights
If you want a very visible demonstration on forwards dominance, including dominant tackling and getting over the gain line with most carries, you should watch the Canterbury v Tasman game. Canterbury after a very disappointing loss to Tarananki last week, made a total statement through their forwards, that they didn't want to have a second performance like that. It was very impressive. If you've ever wondered what those sentences mean, the first 40 minutes of that match are well worth a look.
Waikato also putting together a forwards performance that allowed their backs so much time and space.
