Its a pity that the Warriors are being used as a feeder team, if that continues then they will always be in the lower half of the ladder, and an easy team for a young up and comer to join (then leave once he has reached a good level)
100%
RTS is great, he is a play maker. Quick, darting, unpredictable. Whether Rugby doesnt seem so, thats fine get him back in the NRL
JK says
"We're just running out of time, so I want to see Roger get a decent crack... the northern tour, he probably shouldn't play against Japan, we need to see him against Scotland or Wales where it's a big test match...
Come on, Scotland or Wales are NOT a big test match. Says it all, the feel that RTS is just average at best, best to move on

He is average at best in Rugby Union. He is better in League. Have you seen him doing anything at Center that anyone of the top 10 centers in NZ aren't doing too? He has yet to prove himself a game changer. He has a few nice touches and is starting to find his feet, but he isn't test quality IMO, and I doubt would be considered seriously if we didn't have so many wrecked centers right now.

I watched a few of his early games, hardly got a touch of the ball
What a game, insane, ccky Sharks players giving our players lip who gave it back, some absurd reffing and SJ back to being Magic. 89/100 fantasy points. Warriors #2 on the table. Very hard draw with little of the lower teams twice, but if they can keep beating top 4 contenders they will finish contenders themselves this year.
I must have missed a match, saw game 4 on Sky Saturday so watched highlights, then there was game 5 this weekend that I missed, but have a replay to watch tonight
Confirmation of a much better team this year, SJ is in awesome form, kicking the ball in the right places and scoring tries. Wayde on form, the bald Bros, and everyone playing as a team not individuals. I thought last week, they can easily do top 8, top 4 has to be the goal now!
Doing your best is much more important than being the best.

IMO its not a better team, but they have been coached to a different, free style of play, not the same old up the middle, and hardly offload or run the ball
Top 8 is a given to me
I think they are definitely a more well balanced team, with depth and great impact off the interchange bench. Attitude has vastly improved and this can be seen in the resilience they showed in that last game. Webby has definitely brought some steel into the team and I'm liking it. Top 8 should be the minimum and hopefully Top 4.
Just need to tidy up our edges. Vailea seemed a step behind most of the game.

Yep, its without question they are a better team and as you allude you can tell better team by its depth. The fact we have 5 halves who have all played first grade and can all play the role of running 5/8th, with 2 very good 7s in SJ and Ronnie. The forwards this year are remarkably improved. We beat the sharks with a 20pt lead, a top 4 if not top 2 side many though with Hynes, without Mitch (returns this weekend) and Tohu (hopefully the same as we lose Niukore to a BS refs call). And meanwhile AFB who is the expensive alpha, hasnt shown the kind of intensity the likes of Jazz have. The key is we have a mobile forward back that are ball players who also possess a step, many of them. So you fatigue less, you can spend more time set after set on your own line without the fatigue. No doubt they were also coached to a much higher fitness level pre season. Wade Egan has gone from pint sized half back to a pint sized genuine 9 who is a tackle machine and now knows when to run the 10 metres, when to catch markers not square and of course most of the time when to pass, he use to try and catch the markers square all the time which would just waste 1 tackle. Then you have outside backs like Kosi who have improved beyond belief, as it should be with quality talent.
We do have a VERY hard draw with expected top 6 teams twice and mostly top 10 twice. So if we keep beating top 4 capable sides, it wont do us harm, it will mean we go into Finals footy primed and ready for it. After the Knights we have about 6 games of contenders in a row, if we win 3 out of the 6 I would be very happy, if we win 4/6 I will be stoked and say barring major injury we should be pushing for a top 4 spot ourselves.
Even our 2nd grade FB was on point when he had to fill in for CNK, a small man he is but darn hes got some skill and pace.
Depth and the "right" squad, what the coach has bought is Resilience and doing it for each other, he has embraced his love of NZ as an Aussie and calls himself a Kiwi, hes not new to the Warriors club. He knows what we all do, when a contender (who every expert ive read said would win) puts 20pts on us, the old Warriors would fold. So thats why he keeps the messages simple, Defend with Resilience and you will win more games than you lose. 4/5 is a good start, especially given we were in the game vs the loss to the Roosters.

Yep, both valid points. Our outside backs were not sliding, or decompressing, which given the Sharks just catch, draw and pass, was a bit embarrassing.
I think their defense has lifted in the sense of tackle efficiency, we finished near 90% for that game which you would think should be a tight low scoring game, but the 20 points was simply not countering the catch and pass by sticking to their man and coming out too early leaving the Wing open. I expect Webby to rectify our ability to change defensive styles as the team builds. Of course, he has only had a pre season and 5 games, so given that he is going great guns.
And not scoring first should turn around at some point as their collective knowledge on how each team plays, increases and come out switched on in defensive intensity/resilience.

Haven't we lost a few very good players to better teams for this season? And added new players, who theoretically are not up to par with the ones we lost?
Herald article:
The New Zealand Warriors have confirmed a massive squad clean out.
At the end of a nightmare three-seasons stranded in Australia, 15 players have now been cut loose from the club, including 10 players who started the year on the club's 30-man senior squad, rugby league website Zero Tackle reported.
Some moves have already happened, including the departure of some of the club's biggest names in Matt Lodge, who is playing for the Roosters, Kodi Nikorima, who is playing for South Sydney before linking with the Dolphins, and Ash Taylor, who retired after ongoing hip injuries at the age of 27.
Others have also already been announced such as the departure of Euan Aitken for the Dolphins, the end of Jesse Arthars' one-year loan and return to the Broncos, Chanel Harris-Tavita taking indefinite leave from rugby league in order to travel, Eliesa Katoa joining the Storm and star fullback Reece Walsh switching to the Broncos.
But a host of other players including Jack Murchie, Pride Petterson-Robati, Dunamis Lui and development player Lleyton Finau have also been moved on.
