Wow southee getting more swing than Boult, what is it with these two.
“We’ve arranged a society based on science and technology, in which nobody understands anything about science technology. Carl Sagan 1996
that was unplayable from Boult. going to go down leg and swings in and cuts off the surface to hit off stump. commentators going on about cooks technique, but that was a great ball.
styris critiquing like he was a great batsman himself which he wasnt, he annoys me immensely now. go back to australia.
Jafa ball.
Advantage ENG at lunch
Advantage NZ after Lunch :-)
So many of those decisions not out are hitting the wickets. It must be frustrating knowing the ball would hit but just because it pitches outside line which is an umpires aid its not out, 2 wickets so far.
i wish we had a number 6 with a top score of 240 odd. ugggg. but they have reduced their batting line up removing ali and woakes.
stoneman, can england display how to get yourself out any better over the last 3 months
Now we into the tail. But they will try to feed it to Bairstow and add another 100, so 200-250 id suggest first innings total.
I bet Ben is not Stoked lol
Low 200's and if still batting its not as bad as it could have been. Below par, but NZ has to bat twice, ugh. batting will be different as there is no 58 all out on the board
250 minimum
Bairstow is a head now....
yep, ive seen bairstow go on in these situations, id not even put 300 out of possible which really will hurt nz.
i think we will struggle for 400 again. picking 300ish. so Sodhi may come into play in the game 3rd innings.
as long as we can have a lead of 50-100 ill be happy enough for the draw. nicholls and latham and raval will score a blistering 0.5RPO and waste a days play lol. williamson wont risk the series for a win, he doesnt have the eggs for it.
Just terrible NZ. 96/5 160/7, nearly 300/8 now.
Well done Bairstow and Woods and co. And to think they dropped two all rounders to replace with out and out bowlers.
Well I cant see NZ winning this one, I just hope we dont crumble innings one and draw the series. Need to score 500 to have any hope of winning, at 3rpo which will challenge our blockers. but i think with Engs bowling we will be lucky to get to 300.

Why terrible? You cant just will them out. ENG batted well to recover. They have withstood our strength, now its our turn to do the same.
We will not score 500, so lets agree on that. The last game we were well on top, this game is the opposite. Its our turn now not to crumble.
any time 160/7 with no remaining known batsman to score 300 plus is a terrible effort from the bowling team at finishing off the tail.
we had no anger and you can will them out, boult willed them out with anger the first match. will is exactly what we lacked, the desire, the unbending will to win.
eng survived because we didnt ask any questions of them. what looked like being all out by 150 turned into a lack of energy and wagner and colin DGH bowling the same easy deliveries over and over again. the short ball hasnt worked against eng. we definitely need a 3rd first class seamer.
of course it was terrible, thats not that harsh. we were into the tail at 160/7 and took 1 more wicket in 140 runs. thats terrible by any bowling teams standards. if our tail could score 150+ and average 50 per wicket id be very pleased. imagine if their world class batsmen hadnt gotten rolled.
its extremely disappointing effort in the least. like being up 40-0 in a rugby match only to lose the game.

Terrible effort from bowling team OR good effort by batting team. (There are two sides playing BTW)
Skill is what is needed not will.
ENG survived because they batted, and we bowled non Boult and non Southee. This is what happens when our test win depends on two players, as the other bowlers are only solid, not great, and our betting is average, not great.
So what if NZ was down and out, and fought back, you would be saying what an amazing comeback? Or would you keep blaming someone?
40-0??? Its like being up 40-0 and it ending at 40-36
You now cricket is fickle, Take early wickets and bang. Or dont take them. Today we took them, and as commentators said, lots of dew (There was, I live here), so by start time something to work with. Also, the track isnt expected to change much, so batting gets easier once the air and pitch dries out. Thats is exactly what happened today, to a tee
WE will take them early, due to conditions, then we have to face it
Its 1/5 of the match, and again your angry.
