Bit late to this one but pretty disappointed at Max's behaviour. Should be professional enough to put the team first, how many times has Checo helped him.

I can really see Ocon & Gasly as team mates ending badly.

Great race to watch though. Mercedes seem to love Brazil.

Yeah they did. RBR used the wrong tyres, temperature didn't go where they expected, but Mercedes were strong. George was tops. Interesting to see where the pecking order is if Ferrari can complete a race weekend for a change

Sounds like Liam Lawson will be in Verstappen's car for FP1 in Abu Dhabi, and also for the end of season testing afterwards. Well done to him, I hope he can impress as much as he did in Tsunoda's car the other week.

Hard to know where Marko, Horner and Tost really see him in the greater scheme of things. I guess if he won F2 he would have secured the AT drive for 2023. As he's now going to Super Formula, do Red Bull want to see if he can make a known fast car go fast against top opposition, confirm their faith that he's got what it takes. Either of Tsunoda or deVries wash out in 2023 and they have their next man.

I also wonder who will be in the AT for end of season testing, perhaps deVries will be able to jump in there seeing as he's with the team next season.

Maybe they kept Tsunoda on the keep the seat warm? He's quite quick but he's erratic. Easier to keep him on for a year rather than risk Liam too soon, or get someone new in as a holder

Re Liam Lawson it reminds me of what the All Blacks were guilty of (probably still are) in terms of signing people to be in the backup team position, but never using them, more just to prevent other teams from getting their hands on the talent.

Haas have signed Nico .... Hulkenberg, not the good one. Feels like a backward step to me. Record number of F1 starts for the Hulk without a podium, isn't that his claim to fame? Would have preferred them to pull any driver from F2 rather than him.

Haas can't be confident they can further develop that car without the help of another experienced driver to provide feedback. Doesn't say a lot for the engineering department there.

Looking forward to seeing Lawson in the current World Champion's car tonight. If you're not in line for a race seat for 2023, the car you want to have a go in is the one belonging to the current best driver on the grid. Quite a feather in his cap if nothing else, hope he can make it go respectably fast in FP1 and is allowed to do that by the team engineers.

Agreed, sadly it is all about opportunities for fast cars coming your way or not, for that short time you're viable in the driver market.

I wouldn't want any driver I thought was a talent joining a financial strapped team like hASS or Williams.
That's potentially a way to mentally damage them right from the start, so I was quite disappointed when Mick was announced with them, as it was a clear promotional advertising sponsorship type deal for a crappy team.

I don't know if Hulk is quick quick, he seems to have served up results roughly at where the machinery he's in has been and not a whole bunch more.

Tsunoda staying on and the Honda relationship strengthening will not be unrelated.

He's also not unreasonably slow, but they seem to have stopped broadcasting his radios.

He's still responsible for the best radio message in history what was simply "HEY! ****!"

If you have Spark Sport then you can also get the F1TV Pro app for free as part of your subscription. Spark take the Sky UK feeds and I think that is longer duration coverage, especially around qualification and the race itself.

However, I tend to watch the F1TV feed for most race weekends now. You have ability to listen to their own team or take the Sky commentators. The thing I most like is you can watch the car cams of any of the 20 drivers, which obviously comes in handy when Lawson is driving. There's no commentary on that feed, you just watch the driver go round and round, and hear the radio between the driver and pits. The camera feed also cuts out if the driver comes back into the garage which is a bit of a shame, would be nice to hear what they are discussing when changes are being made.

FP1 starts at 11pm tonight.

I'm undecided about Tsunoda at the moment, I initially thought that he has improved his driving but now I'm wondering if it's more Gasly having checked out of really trying for AT since the rumours he was leaving for Alpine started. Maybe a bit of both.

Can't agree with you on the radio message though, that surely has to be Kimi's "Leave me alone, I know what I'm doing!"

As a team we made some mistakes in Brazil. We had not envisaged the situation that unfolded on the last lap and we had not agreed a strategy for such a scenario before the race. Regretfully, Max was only informed at the final corner of the request to give up position without all the necessary information being relayed. This put Max, who has always been an open and fair team player, in a compromising situation with little time to react which was not our intention. Following the race Max spoke openly and honestly, allowing for both drivers to resolve any outstanding issues or concerns. The Team accept Max's reasoning, the conversation was a personal matter which will remain private between the team and no further comment will be made.

The events that followed from a social media point of view are completely unacceptable. The abusive online behaviour towards Max, Checo, the Team and their respective families is shocking and saddening and unfortunately is something that we as a sport are having to address with depressing regularity. There is no place for it in racing or society as a whole and we need to do and be better. At the end of the day this is a sport, we are here to race. Death threats, hate mail, vitriol towards extended family members is deplorable. We value inclusion and want a safe space for everyone to work in and enjoy our sport. The abuse needs to stop.
