Batman:

cars with new everything parts tend to do better, so let's see what happens in the next few races as the engine ages on

fingers crossed for him, a lot of luck needed. as far as I understand, his contract is for 6 races and no contract for next year at the moment.

Ricciardo had enough new bits for Liam to immediately cop a penalty as soon as he sat in it. New bits were not the problem for Danny Ric.

Great job Liam 19th to 9th, couple of great passes on Fernando (despite the old foxes attempted mind games). I missed how Russell got past him but I assume just Merc being in another classes probably.

Agree. You'd have to say he is doing everything right so far.

I think they have given him a tough assignment for a permanent seat, but he seens to be grabbing the opportunity with both fists so far.
I think if he gets shafted at the end of this ride, he'll get picked up elsewhere.

Given how Checo continues to spiral downwards (and lets assume RBR will drop him after Abu Dhabi) it would be interesting he Liam swapped seats for the last 3 races "as experience" Max wins, Liam 2nd or 3rd. Max 3rd, Liam 4th or 5th, that would tell a story. Better than 1st o4 2nd vs 8th or lower etc. I just see a Ricciardo 2.0 here

What a race! Nvr expected Ferrari to come tops, especially with a 1-2! Amazing job by Lawson to proof his worth for a seat...did so well Yuki couldn't even believe it and spun!

I think Lewis suddenly realised that he's leaving soon, so no reason to further develop the car..

Lando vs Max, Lando needs to be smarter. Like the commentators mention, you can't keep trying to pass Max using the same strategy...Max will see through that and place the car perfectly every time to deny it... Wonder if McLaren tried the undercut on Max, would the outcome been different? Guess McLaren never expected the pace Lando found towards the final part of the race...

Mexico next, RBR have always done well...so it'll be the usual I guess

Lando does need to protect his starts, going defensive into first corners before taking the normal racing line later to pull away.
He seems to jump to a non defensive line too early and has been pounced on several times.

His reaction time is excellent though, so I do feel McLaren had a bog down issue earlier in the year when he was losing places. Now it's down to craftsmanship and aggression to protect what's yours.

I expect Liam is free to leave at the end of this season if not offered a seat with RedBull #1 or #2 team.

Contentious point, but I'd prefer to have Carlos in that Ferrari than Lewis at this point.

For a lot of people that is not contentious.

If you watched the sprint race, you could see that even though Max won Ferrari had race pace and the car is so easy on its tyres. I placed a $50 bet on Charles at $5 to win on Sunday night. Sure made the next morning watching at work a bit more exciting.

but there's nowhere to go, 99% of seats elsewhere all taken. the only way he gets a drive is at RB

Lawson needs to work on his starts. Even though he picked up a bunch of places on the first lap, he was slow off the line and would be overtaken if he repeats that effort starting somewhere further up the grid. Nevertheless, great to see the praise he got from Horner, Marko and Mekies for his P9 finish. It's a shame Haas seem to have really improved their car, retaking P6 in the Constructors looks beyond VCARB just at the minute.

On a personal note, hoping that VCARB might do some race-specific merchandise for either Mexico or maybe Vegas. Would really like to own a Lawson cap or t-shirt from this season on the off-chance RBR don't renew him for 2025.

Entirely agree with this, I think Hamilton is likely to be a downgrade for Ferrari on the track next season bearing in mind we haven't seen him turn a wheel yet. The dynamic within the team will be interesting also, not sure how he will cope with not having the team built around him and the Italian way of doing things. Will make them a lot of money on merchandise no doubt though. Half of the UK will swing their support behind Ferrari as a result of this.

Lawson nearly 1s down on Tsudona as FP2 is currently going.

Must be a tough track to learn. 2 veterans already crashed out.

Fingers crossed for him ... maybe one doing quali sim and one doing race sim.

It's a Pirelli Tyre test and there is a set programme with Tyre requirements so it's meaningless for the drivers

According to their website, Tsunoda is running an improved floor this weekend with Lawson to get the update in Brasil. It's a mod on the new floor they both had in Austin.

Sounds like both drivers are happy with the car at this point, even if Lawson is yet to translate that to track position. Still, he has FP3 to work on his one-lap pace before quali. Hopefully he can get closer to Tsunoda even if he doesn't have the modified spec.
