JPNZ: Tsunoda crashes in Q2 ruining his and Lawsons chances to make Q3 sadly. Yuki’s car does look fastest of the two.
we will know who's faster tomorrow, as they start alongside (almost).
wishing Liam all the best ...
Liam closed the gap a bit and was primed for the last run in Q3.Oh well, that happens
Ferrari have looked great at time then pretty average but they have clearly moved forward, and are the best car on track
Race, Ferrari 1-2. Lando and Max can right out the last podium position. McLaren is the better car, but strategy and Lando errors will be key for Lando to comfortably take 3rd. Max said the changes they made after practice have worked, so potentially a podium but would need Lando to help.
Wow, TAB have weird odds. Carlos 2-75, Lando 3-00, Max 3-50, Charles 6-00
Carlos, yes, going great and on pole. Lando? Starts one place ahead of a Ferrari so odds are a bit too low. Max odds are way too low. Charles is WAY too high, should be 2nd fave.
Hoping for:
1) No turn 1 incidents between this lot
2) Liam and Yuki have a clean race and go against each other.
Yuki's crash. I still feel he is pushing the limit to impress. he has looked good this weekend, how much of that is pushing to impress? Liam a hard job on an awkward track first time up, but he will improve. Ended up not much behind Yuki before his Q2 was ended
Jaxson: McLaren couldn’t pull it together in Q3 but we’re looking super sharp Q2
Wait to see who can string it all together for the full race vs 1 hot lap.
i have a feeling whoever is ahead at the end of the 1/2 mile drag race to turn 1 will be winning the race, if previous races have any bearing on how these cars have difficulty following.
9am race start.

All I am hoping is its a clean turn 1. Nothing worse than anticipation of the race, and 90% of it is done and dusted on turn 1. Now, its a long way, so more likely that there will not be a 4 wide race onto turn 1.
9am race start?? Its a "day off" race start :-)

Thats the key. More speed but more errors. Less speed but less errors. And strategy.
Example Liam vs Yuki. They showed a stat of time gained. Liam was well ahead on slow corners while Yuki was ahead on the rest. That is super interesting given that Liam hasn't raced here before, and Yuki has a floor upgrade. A race within a race.
certainly didn't expect this (a non yawn fest) when i got up this morning!
Lawson in last place after pitting
Lawson went from 10th at safety car restart to nearly last place at the end
My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
Jaxson: Finally Max penalised for his straight through lines running people off the track, forcing others to run off to avoid contact.
Both penalties were deserved. Lando eames thr ight for space wasnt given it. RBR should have reversed the positions. Turn 7 was an overspeed desperate move, poor.
But going back to Austin, Lando's penalty was correct it wasn't Max's fault. He drove to the rules. Under the rules Max had right of way and he got past. You can correctly say that as Lando was ahead before the apex, Max was the overtaker so its his fault. Cant argue with that, but the issues is thats not how the rules are written. Its a rules issue at Austin
Wow, Liam called and idiot twice (was Albon the other as well as Checo?) By Alonso last week. I was happy with his race, he was milliseconds behind in Quali, thats a good result as Yuki going well at Mexico, Liams first time, and with minimal practice. Showed some good moves, although the one with Checo was marginal. Brundle saw that 60% Liam and 40% Checo, thats fair enough. Damage from Colapinto and Stroll (I think). But he looked racy enough IMO
Ferrari will win Constructors
