Great speech by Kholi, VERY classy. Utterly destroyed Australia and deserved this final test too, never mind.

I do wonder what this West Indies bowling record they have broken is, will do some digging. Man they got some bowlers, oh darn they got amazing batsmen.

I hope we dont get white washed. I know its ODIs but this Indian team is probably the best cricket team Ive seen. SA were up there in the last decade or so and Aus before them, but if India continue on a vertical trajectory I can see it being a decade of dominance.

complete days of play washed out in Australian Test cricket:
24 Sydney
9 Melbourne
8 Brisbane
2 Adelaide
1 Hobart
0 Perth

In a month? Year? Since 1900A.D. ?

The missing number will help

Oh TD, :-). Assume its forever forever. Its since they have played tests at those locations. Take it with a grain of salt as some locations clearly get more tests. But it rains in summer in Sydney and Brisbane and is sunny all winter. Perth its indicative of the dry sunny weather there, I dont remember a day of rain in the year I lived there. And Melbourne had a whole test washed out in those 9 days.

They use to have rest days in Tests. Its incredibly frustrating, same situation as our first Test, they score 650 odd declared, aus out for 300 odd, and umps call BS bad light then today it rains all day. then you get tests that are over in 3-4 days often. Id love to see an additional day for lost time so some of these tests can be concluded.

If thats forever then I dont see an issue. Factoring in one extra day would help a lot.

I doubt we will see a return of rest/reserve days. It plays havoc with the TV scheduling.

That was the reason it was closed down :-). But thats 2 tests in 3 (1nz 1ind) now which results were definitely impaired by rain. Schedule 6 day tests :-). make sure the middle is over the weekend :-). Yeah it sucks for test cricket but is life. We would have been 2nd in the world not 3rd for a brief moment. :-)

Its sunny so it sounds at Nelson. humidity 44%, I dont think the ball is going to swing much. Maybe 30 mins this morning a little. So If I won the toss Id bat.

Id expect no Southee or Boult, Bracewell having his final chance and Ferguson back in where he belongs.

Bit of a nothing game today. Batting second is an advantage. When is Fergusson going to bowl as a quick?? he has been only slightly the faster bowler so far, where are the 150+ bowls?

Its India that will show us what we need to improve

Hes been between 142-148 in his one game. He was bowling 150+ in UAE and bouncers collecting players left right and centre. Thats what I wanted to see from him, some mongrel :-)

India is like the opposition in Star Wars, there is no stopping them haha.

No Bracewell, oh well too bad too sad (ie yay)

Fergusons issue was he starts fast then slows. Now hes not starting fast, not much quicker than one other bowler. So, why not now?

That interesting what the team has said, they expect 300 to be par in Eng, so they are going to play their games here to the conditions but with 300+ as minimum.

I dunno, Eng can swing a LOT, certainly the better teams 300, but aussies id expect 150 ;-p hehe, loving it.

Hopefully Siefert is average again, we cant afford average in a world cup player. We need players who perform every week, thats why CDeG needs to be a reserve only

Hes not going to bowl 150+ every ball, he has a brilliant slow ball, trust me Ive faced 140+ and its 300% different to 130. I wouldnt worry too much, Id worry more about his accuracy and if he can intimidate the batsmen with bounce then throw in the slow ball yorker etc.

You so hard on him I dont get it. He got 20 in 12, you cant expect much more in the last 4 overs. If everybody fails trust me Seifert can bat 50 overs, hes a top 1st class player. Its his keeping they are suspect about, but last match he had a sensational game, 3 awesome catches, especially that under edge, not many keepers would have nabbed that.

We need to know if Latham cant Keep we have a spare Keeper and hes definitely the best Batsman Keeper in NZ outside Watling, which is who I would choose.

Im feeling 270-280 is par here. What Doull said about it flattening out once the ball loses its hardness is always the case in Nelson.

So for me Id say 40/1 from 1st 10 overs would be a par start. 50/1 from the 2nd. Then they can look at 6-7 an over.

Lol Smithy "NO BRACEWELL, I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND". Well if he could bowl a bit better Id agree. Neesham is a far better all round package so why bother testing Bracewell.

Bracewell averages 30 with the Ball and 11 with the bat, thats not even an all rounder, its a good bowler, but not international level imo.

Seifert will probably get is go today TDGEEK :-) not a great start. give him 15 overs and he will get 50.

You dont read anything I say or ignore it. First game is batting was poor, he was out of his depth. Keeping was poor. he is very good in first class he is not an international. Im not hard on him, he isnt good enough, and its not the results, its he is not good enough, you can see that, that is obvious. 20 in 12? Wrong. he was struggling, he got a 6, when it was go hard, so 21 from 12 is what he got bit it doesnt show he's great. Had he not got a 6 when it was go hard time, it could have been 12 or 13 from 12, a poor effort by a GOOD batsman at go hard time. If 20 from 12 when its go hard means he is great, we disagree. I have nothing against him, he just isnt good enough. We cannot afford bad luck at our level at world cup time let alone liabilities
