Only about a month to go until the starting race of the F1 season. Still no details from Spark in terms of the cost of Spark Sports, subscription options etc(pay monthly, pay per event etc). It isn't giving them much time to get advertising and get people to sign up for it.

It will come out in due course, there is a number of spark sport threads - Lets keep this the sport and not about how to stream it
It will be ready by the first GP. I assume advertising will be quick to do, maybe already done? Filling in a form online isn't much either. Probably take 5 minutes to be u and running. Those that registered will get an email you would expect when its ready

Until the pricing of $50 (this is an imaginary higher than expected figure to make a point) a month drops....and everyone's expectations are thrown out the window. That's the only bit making me uneasy at the moment, and I'm not really an F1 fan, but if the price is right and if there are casual options (per race, per event) I'd probably consider it.

The word is that pricing will be Netflix level pricing, as per a post early in this thread, from a social media post by Spark. So, $15 give or take for the sports package it looks like. RWC is extra. I think I read somewhere about other options. if thats correct, maybe day/week/month/event perhaps.
both Sky UK and F1TV Pro are airing 20 (live) hours of pre season coverage from the first test and this starts in just a few days
Guess any Kiwi who wants to watch this coverage will have to pirate it since Spark isnt ready to provide this and there is no other legal option now.
theres also a voucher code F1TV20 that works if you want to sign up to the "B" version of F1TV - brings the price to 33.59$ NZD for 1 year
theres 2 hours of UK Sky Sports F1 coverage today from first day of pre-season testing
Williams starting off horrible - no cars at the test!

Watched most of the testing, as they say, so many sub plots. Also no much new info on anything, its just a test. Whetting the appetite
New update on Spark Sport - $19.99 per month. Melbourne GP also being broadcast on TVNZ's Duke channel as cover

It is promising to see the reliability of our beloved McLaren up there with some of the highest laps done. The Merc's will be fast so not counting them out yet

I have to say I am loving FB comments from armchair F1 Team owners ;) that are commenting how bad some teams are doing...

I loved the comments by team principals on how its going for them and others. How to say we wont know till Melbourne in 15 different ways!
The simpler front wings and the slight variations, and the major variation for Alfa, there may be some level of progress there that might mix it up a little

Not long to wait for Melbourne :)
Scary moment for Danny Ric today though, with his wing suddenly detaching mid straight. They did not confirm if it was under DRS.
The simpler wings sound like they are a handful when transitioning from DRS to Normal too
On the topic of Spark Sport and F1 -
"Fans of the sport will be pleased to know that the Sky Sport UK feed will be used again. Spark has also confirmed that pre-race build up and post-race coverage will be included in the package.
Practice, Qualifying and the Grand Prix will all be streamed via the new service."
That;s good, I liked the Sky UK feed, was concerned it would be something different.
