Oh I dont disagree. Mcfadden is just a puppet for whats going on above his head. Hes doing the best he can I have no qualms with that. I just dont know if being an assistant coach and getting the top job by manner of default makes you qualified to teach defense at a tactical level. The warriors dont need offense training, they been showing that the last 2 weeks. What they need is to learn how to hold teams under 10 points per game and they will win 9/10. And thats not going to happen simply by tackle practise. They should have learnt that by high school.

On a posistive note. At least our offense has been strong 2 games in a row and if they make it 3 against easts, the real test of whether there has been change will be the following game when we are tested.

Im excited Maumolo is back, sucked he missed out of 1st grade due to that ham string but hes back now. A real RTS sort with height but also the capability to run over players like Manu and the ability to score freaky tries like Fusitua. Imo Manu should be considered playing lock but joining in on the offloads and set plays. Then we would have two awesome wingers and a lock who can chime in with the backs, a bit like Thompson, just a bit quicker and harder to tackle. Although Thompson has been my fav forward this year. IMO Hoffman, robson, wright need to go. We need one more powerful centre, I feel Ayshford is good enough to stay but on the bench. PErhaps Manu could even play centre. Exciting times. But I do believe Mcfadden is stubborn and keeping Lolohea at FB is stubborn. We bought Wells from easts not as a reserve?

Yep I think Graham Henry joining is exactly what Mcfadden needed to survive and learn as a growing coach. How to motivate a team who has no real pressure on them in NZ and no media and dont grow up wanting win the NRL like aussies do. Its hard to instill a passion for something thats really not ours. i think Henry can do that. Geeze if he can stop Ruchie from losing 2 more world cups he can do anything. ;-p

Dont think Manu will make this 10 tries per season now. Not without a couple of doubles and trebles.

Cant wait to see Sipley play, hes gonna be powerful. Mcfadden made 2 good choices. Credit when its due.

Today should be a good game, very much looking to Sipley and Maumolo, both should be in our squad. Id shift Manu to lock/centre/wing (whatever is needed) and keep ken and fus playing but definitely manu too. If lolohea played 6 this would be our strongest squad with lillyman and replacing roache or someone on the bench but starting clearly. Just play Wells cappy, why did we buy him from easts if we not going to use him as our reserve FB......... no faith.

This is a better test of the warriors, but they wont get a real test until the sharks. I feel GHenry is having a positive impact on Mcfadden who lets face it was an assistant coach chucked in the deep end. Was a good move. But I think getting a GF winning coach and moving jones to assistant is the way forward.

Should be a good game, go might warriors go.

Sharks Game heart ache.

I think Graham Henry has had a major improvement in team motivation.

Well done warriors players, awesome effort, to be fair they won they game, maybe the 1 point doesnt show that but in sane world it would.

2 issues that lost it for us.

1. A video ref calling a penalty try when Ive never seen one called and we have had 10 not called for us this season. The guy needs sacking for having no consistency or trying to be a mind reader. You cant just give a penalty try thinking he might ground it. He might also have tripped up or missed the ball. Either call them every time or never. I thought it was never. There is one 6 pointer which lost us the game.

2. Mcfaddens team selection. He has to go, his record is abysmal, he has no clue as to what he is doing. He was learning as an assitant coach and I think when Elliot left and they won a few games management thought hey we could save some money here and not buy a proper coach. The warriors need a coach who has one a grand final so he can instill what it means, the passion, the desire, the expectation that we dont get from our loyal but not aussie like fans. Why on earth would you bench Lolohea, then when he comes on he plays FB? That took Fusitua our best winger imo off the wing and into a less chance of making an impact. Not only this it put Ayshford and Wright on the same side centre/wing, both being .... defenders and ex sharkies given the axe because of it the sharkies exploited this with ease. Why not just put lolohea on to start leave fusitua on the wing and then if johnson had to leave the field then change lolohea to 7. Or even better use our damn reserve FB we bought from easts for this reason. Now for the definitive second reason we lost, Jon Wright trying to pick up a miracle ball with defender screaming down on him instead of diving on the ball. If Fusitua had been in that position thats what would have happened. Jon Wright flapped up so many times I lost count but that was definitely 6 points the difference.

The warriors should have and deserved to win that game 20-8.

Mcfadden must go, unless Watson wants warriors fans exiting the loyalty. We pay the wages. We deserve better. A team of our calibre should easily be top 4. Look what Waybe Bennett can and did do with a losing Broncos team. Imagine what a coach of his calibre could do with a team with overflowing talent.

Im really proud of the players, Im going to take it as a win. I loved the players in motion, i loved the speed of the play the ball, I loved Luke stealing metres or creating penalties, I loved or D running at the line reducing it to 5m gains which means kicking from the 50 and not being put under pressure most of the time. They played the perfect game. Let down by a coach and Im sorry to say, a single player. Harsh but true.

The warriors need to release hoffman, robson, wright and possibly ayshford (although I think he plays better usually with a better winger in D, hed be the only one Id possibly keep). Id be looking to buy Martin Taupau. We have plenty of talent in reserve and NYC otherwise. We need to take Toovey if hes still available or anyone of more GF experience. Retain mcfadden as assistant coach and give the guy more time to learn. To be fair its a big ask of him. Although the conspiracy theory could say hes not playing Lolohea because he doesnt want a young talented half to succeed unlike his own Half back career.

Time to put Lolohea in 6 and leave him there, or hes going to find a club who will treat him better. He is our most potent offensive weapon or at least equal to johnson. But johnson is clearly a better all round half, but Tuis foot work and speed is amazing.

And no Im not a coach but everything I said is captain obvious to anyone who has played the game or watched a smidgen of it.

Heh, see you wrecked it. Once fans start getting hope, the warriors will give you a knee in the NADS and fail. Sorry to say it, hope I'm wrong, but history often repeats.

We bought Wells from easts as a backup Full Back to RTS. We played Bunty this weekend from reserves. Why are we not playing a good full back at FULL BACK to replace RTS?

If we did that our spine returns to being the best in the league. Wells FB, Johnson 7, Lolohea (who will take so much of that expectation off johnson) at 6, Luke 9, Fus Wing, Maumolo Wing. When Manu returns I think they should consider using him as a centre or lock, but centre to replace Ayshford to give our young new wingers first hand mentorship.

We need to win ugly sometimes. We won ugly. We lost the week before due to rights mistake and the the BS penalty try call, not effort. We need to learn to win those close ones where adversity is against us. We did that this weekend.

We need 5/9 to be assured a top 8 spot, I think. It was 6 from 10. I have looked at the teams and the 5 should be easy, the other 4 we could win. If we do, top 4 is an outside possibility.

Cant wait for next year when Toovey is coaching and giving unfit big players a gob ful and Wiki backing him up. Thats the coaching we need.

Run 5m off your D line. Do not let the opposition play in your 20. Play the ball quickly in offence, draw the penalties from teams like sharks, storm etc who hold teams down, get out 3 big fast runs, then a run from Luke to either try and get a penalty or cause mayhem, pass to johnson, players in motion, choose the right player running the right angle through a clear gap, try. Rinse Repeat. I think G Henry is instilling this attitude of pride and what it means to win an NRL GF, something he doesnt know, but something we need to know as our fans dont have that expectation like if we were based in Surfers or Bondi.

In the 8, yeah !

Perhaps Wells wasn't completely fit, didn't meet the goals set to him in training or has failed to otherwise prove himself to the coaching staff. Maybe his attitude wasn't ok. There are reasons, which I'd expect you'll never know but were legitimate.

I believe what GH is doing, is instilling mental skills into these guys. Helping them be mentally tougher.

Bye bye McFadden, not playing lolohea until the last 2 mins of extra time. I wont repeat what the commentators said about it as it wasnt very flattering. Im assuming he will resign.

Bad luck Warriors. Tricky conditions. So many oppurtunities. At least 5, gone begging. I knew it would be lost with errors by the rookies in the wet. Welll thats 2015 all over again. Miss the 8 and yeah there are reasons ill never know why lolohea was benched.

We cant afford to lose this one today as we can only afford one loss and we have the cowboys to come. Losing Luke was a huge blow.

But they are making out we are out of the game, I dont know where they get that from. Hayne is only going to come on for a short period to replace the half backs (Roberts injured) replacement (Cullen), so I think thats massively over hyped. Hurrell hasnt done much whilst there, no more than he was doing with us this year, but Im sure he will put in a big effort to prove a point to Cappy.

But looking at the teams side by side, I think the warriors have a much more talented team. Yeah the Titans held onto a golden point draw, but we lost unfairly as agreed by Archer in golden point (should have blown penalty for sharks offside).

I think being $2.70~ and titans $1.50~ seems a little over the top given the above?

Well Cleary has said he is looking for a club again as he wants to compete against his son. I dunno though. Cleary is better than cappy. But we didnt win with him and we did fluke our way to a GF. But at least we made the top 8. How can this team for 5 years straight not make the top 8? It aint talent, dont blame the players, if they have faults or issues, coach them.

Dropping Lolohea for our most important game of the year was the last straw for me. YOu ask him to play FB which is not his position. Yet when he doesnt succeed one time against a team who win a GF recently and have just refound their form you drop him? And now Doyle is spouting how hes talking to Foran, yet Lolohea cant get a shot at the spot. Way to blow a young players confidence and loyalty. If Lolohea splits I wouldnt hold it against him. Cappy has single handedly destroyed a team most team fans would drool over. Hes done everything he can to shift the blame. Ive not once heard him say "I", I need to work on defense more, I need to help Ken catch the ball in the wet, I need to put Lolohea in at 6 and move Thomas to 9 because Thomas will sneak me metres just like Luke.

We dont need Foran, hes nowhere near as good as Lolohea on raw talent, we need a coach who will link Lolohea with Johnson and solidify our spine. I bet cleary would be chomping at the bit to coach this team. But I think we somehow need to lure a coach of Bellamys style. Using fast taller but leaner longer lasting forwards is the way to go. Interchangeable Centre/Lock type players and 4 props, which we have. We have a damn good team. Raw talent wise, easily a top 4 potential team.

And now we need a winger we have a hooker playing winger, but Lolohea dropped.

Mcfadden better pay the ultimate price for some really bizarre decisions, loss of players, he has ruined our once in 100 year team. He doesnt coach, he sacks players and blames them. If Lolohea wasnt the best FB why did u play him there? Put thomas at 9 and Lolohea at 6, problem solved, not rocket science.

Im close to giving up if they dont find a coach who will coach the players.

It IS Cappy not the players. We had the most talented line up at the start of the year, look at the team list tonight. Well done champ. I suspect he is jealous of Loloheas ability vs his own below average career.

First the Warriors keep Mcfadden and let super talented and multi u21 GF winning Ackland leave for England. They should have given Ackland a huge pay rise and head coach right then.

Since then, Mcfadden have fd up B Abbey, Hurrell, and now Lolohea. All prodigies under Acklands brilliance.

He benches Lolohea during one of the most important games of the year and then drops him completely for the most important game of the year.

Yet they squeeze Lolohea into being this super loyal X factor half and all the time Ive been wondering why Lolohea wasnt playing 6 ahead of thomas leuluia.

Mcfadden, if players drop the ball at the 40m often or make mistakes, your job is to coach them, train them so these errors dont occur. Im sick of people defending him saying its the players fault. Players from NZ are going to be prone to sloppyness, they dont grow up in the ultra high expectations of Australia. So we need a coach who can accept that and work on the basics with players who should at that level not make these kinds of mistakes. But they do, they have and they will continue too. That doesnt mean they dont have the raw talent to be great. It takes a coach to identify problems and coach those problems. And its up to the players to give 100% at trying to rectify consistent problems.

Cleary has said he wants a team to coach, to compete against his son. Where is Toovey at (hes my preference)?

I gotta say the warriors were pretty hard done by this game and 2 of the golden point games, I seldom like to see reffing mentioned. But what i just watched was bogus. Players running into other players to take themselves out of play to get brilliant tries disallowed..... The NRL really is an amateur Reffing level.

But thats it Warriors, season over.

Did Mcfadden say earlier he will leave if they dont make the 8?

If so Id like to Adtkins our old NYC coach be given the job. Or assistant coach under Toovey. We need a real coach, we have never had a REAL coach. A GF winning coach.

We need our tendency to drop the ball coached, not have players dropped like Cappy did with Lolohea.

Pretty hard way to end the season, Ref calls try and the bunker does everything they can do over turn it.
