Seriously the science experiment has gone wrong. 10 losses in a row now on cappy's watch.

Robson at 7? Lolohea at wing?

Time for Robson to go back to the bench as a utility, I appreciate they wanted to use him as a settling player but its lethargic and starving johnson, lolohea to 6, Johnson at 7. Get RTS more involved in set line moves. Our broken field players and creaters like Lolohea, Johnson, RTS running off of Luke and Matulino in second phase moves. Im all for plodding the ball up but johnson is not getting his hands on the ball enough, Lolohea is wasted out wide which is a specialised position now days.

Ayshford is putting Lolohea off his tackling game by coming in instead of holding the line, whilst I like him I dont think he should be in our starting team. We have too many players the sharks let go. All 3 should be in reserve grade imo, possibly Ayshford on the bench as he can play lock.

Fusutua to wing, and when Hurrell gets his stuff together and looks ripped we dont play him? Whatever beef cappy has with him, time to get over it and play the guy.

Nice to see Mannering really playing well despite relinquishing captaincy, class act. Hoffman and Lillyman are looking lethargic. Lisone is running it up real strong.

I hope Manu is ok.

That just my opinion. But something is going horribly wrong.

I don't get a "rugby" that doesn't have a proper breakdown.

I agree that the latest iteration of coach at the warriors is no better than the last. The issues don't appear to be coaching related (Other than selection), something else is rotting inside the warriors camp, I am unsure what it is. They need some help with their mental game if I had to guess.

They lack fortitude.

Warriors fans are a crazy loyal bunch, they seem to have 1 win for every 5-6 losses on average (I haven't checked the actual stats), it's bordering on fan abuse!

It's poor game planning and team selection. Johnson had 2 (you read the correctly) running metres from 3 attempts against the broncos. He has the speed and agility to put doubt in the opposition but if he's just shovelling the ball on or kicking then we're not using our #1 strike weapon at all. He has spent his career at 7, put him back there.

On defense they look lost. Are the playing up and in or sliding? They don't seem to know themselves. Tuivasa-Shek has missed two one-on-one tackles that have lead to tries, not entirely his fault but for $800k per year he should be making those tackles.

I'd like to see more direct running up the middle and give Luke the chance to scoot out of dummy half rather then giving the ball to 2nd rowers standing 3 wide of the ruck. Also Johnson should chance it on the last and run it, aim less bombs and grubbers and rubbish tackling is killing our 5th tackle options.

The only positive side at the moment is in 2011 they lost their first 3 games and went on to the Grand Final. If we're not showing significant improvement by Rd 10 then bring in Cleary.

By round ten the season will have gone.

I reckon give him two more games - I'd love to see them crack a win then they'll be away laughing... it's as much about psychology as anything else, they've forgotten how to win.

Sounds like Hurrell will be back in this week, to replace Ayshford. Though my concern is our wingers (both of them, sorry Manu) and I'd probably have Ayshford in one of those spots if he was fit. I'd put Jonathan Wright in, and put Lolohea on the bench (or in the 2's for a while to be honest - the kid needs some consistent time in one spot, not shuffling around from week to week).

I'm not bothered about SJ at all - his game dictates he'll dominate some games and be quiet in others... unfortunately at the moment we're seeing more of the latter, which underlines where the team is at - lacking confidence.

I'd also like to see Charlie Gubb come in and fire the pack up - we need a bit of aggro... hopefully that'll rub off on Bully and a couple of the others too.

Game 1 was awful - terrible defense, non existent offense.

Game 2 was better - defense was a bit better, but there was ZERO attack.

Pass once and hit the line has it's place, but currently warriors attack is pass once, hit the line - repeat till last tackle then kick and hope. Those kicks can go either way - batting it back opens them up to run aways from the opposition and the days of players crashing over the line off kicks every time are long gone.

It really doesn't look like there is any direction on the field at all. I don't think Johnson at 7 will magically fix that. In the past he had his opportunities and tended to favour individual brilliance over a team play. However he seemed to be getting better at that after watching the Nines.

I don't know what is wrong and I don't think we can expect brilliance game 1, but the warriors do not look as fit as their Aussie counterparts, regardless of any skill based play.

Then we've got Isaac Luke who has done little other than pass the ball out of dummy half - no running, no getting in the defense's face that he is known for. Johnson has done next to nothing so far.

They have the pieces - they just don't look like they know how to use them. Who knows why. Firing coaches over and over doesn't seem to work all that great.

johnson at 7 isnt about magically fixing things, its about getting our number 1 playmaker the ball. lolohea in broken play is devastating as is RTS, these gusy should be in set line moves with SJ off of Matulino and Luke.

to be quite honest i lost faith in the warriors buying up big and throwing our juniors in every position but their native one.

hey lets grow our best FB ever in the juniors and just when hes nearly ready to step up to seniors we sell him to the doggies and buy a FB who does the same job of manu/kata/hurell in hitting the ball up from behind, sure he also has a mean step but so did our young gun we sold.

then we get lolohea thinking he would take over from townsend another shark release, but we buy another 3 shark releases, put one at 7 and force johnson to 7 and lolohea to 6, seriously guys.

Luke was the only good buy we made, he sucked game 1 and was much better game 2 and hopefully if we either get a coach like toovey with half an attacking mind set he will get a run per play.

what im seeing on the field is how to buy the best team possible and how to utilise them the worst possible, literal.

if thats the coach doing this, well im afraid 10 losses in a row with this team is not good enough.

instead of buying RTS we should have just bought Luke, not gone near any of the sharks let go, and hired the most damn competent coach at whatever rate we could afford. cappy was a fill in, hes had a potential top 4 team for 4 years and johnson isnt getting younger, we going to way until johnson is 30 before we wake up?

and let me just say, this isnt about firing TOP grade coaches over and over. we have NEVER HAD ONE TO FIRE !

if we had bennett, bellamy, toovey, id say stick with them.

but cappy was a second string coach who filled a hole of a has been coach (which lets be honest didnt have the best career record). get a GF winning coach and stick with him. someone who expects professionalism and isnt afraid to give the team a spray. cappy is a nice guy. but he was shoved into the position way to early and hes not going to learn with noone to learn from. hes a 2nd string coach.

yep some, and if you try and actually spell out the problems you are told you are not a "real" fan. screw that. real fans want nothing but success imo, on and off the field.

To be fair, the team was humming along nicely last year until Johnson went down. Even if we had a great coach, we probably weren't going to win the comp without Johnson. All the "top" coaches have current clubs/contracts.

Going to be tough to beat the Storm, home or not. They start the season stronger than any other club, and history shows that. Especially if we are without Matulino, who probably goes close to our best meter eater every week.
