So we're looking at $20 per month for F1 coverage, so about $10 a race.

The service doesn't carry any other sports we want to see in our household.

I assume you have Sky Sport, if you have HD ticket, Sky just got $10 cheaper, making Spark Sport a net $10 per month

Im looking at Fanpass now, $30 for me, but Sky might keep some key sports on popups regularly, to try to stem that? Thats what I would do

Sky Starter and Sky Sport both increased in price, remember. I think the pop-ups occasionally have something worth watching, the surfing is good background TV but I don't know if I'd consciously pay for it.

Yes, I saw the increase as I was going to check whats on popup today. In the past I have seen some premier (non filler) sport on popup, which is my worry

Does Sky have any delayed rights to F1 anymore?  eg delayed replays etc?

We don't have Sky, so am considering all options to source this content.

Sky for sports (not including any particular deals) base rate currently looks like $45 per month:

  • The SKY Starter package costs $24.91 per month and from 1 April 2019 will increase to $25.99 per month.

Sky Sport addon is $29.90 per month (not sure if it's going to increase?)

No.  Sky does not have any delayed rights.

Sky Sport up $2-09. I dont know if Sky has any delay, I would doubt it.

Your figures are the base STB, no recording, so bear that in mind

Yes, Pro isnt as Pro is effectively Access + live, and it doesn't do live, just 2 week replays

No worries there IMO. Watching the F1 and being interested in the sport, I see, as a hobby.

A little bit of cash spent here is fine IMO.

Oh I'm not necessarily knocking it, just stating the facts I learnt today without an angle.

So even though Sky has ESPN & ESPN2, we still wont see F1 on SKY/ESPN?

Not unless Spark and Sky come to an agreement which is unlikely given the TVNZ Duke channel backup.

If ESPN have the broadcast rights, they wont be applicable here, as SparkSport have them.  So an agreement between Sky and the current rights holders would be required.
