The racing gods intervened. They must be sick of bullying bothas.

So apparently he accidentally flicked a switch behind the steering wheel while overtaking perez during the restart.

Yep, there is a magic brake bias button (I presume this is the replacement to DAS) for safety car and brake warming by turning off or reducing the regen from the brakes and by knocking it, he didn't have the brakes in the right place for them to operate and therefore had no braking performance.  Shame, as he had the inside line for the 1st corner... and without DRS I don't think the RB would have got past the merc.

This is the stuff of divine intervention. Lewis at 18 might have done that but not prime Lewis. Unless he's lost his mojo... Keeps the tension going for the next race. Shame cos max should have pulled a few points up, then it looked like Lewis was going to put 26 points on max instead, then the gods did that they did.

Wasn't it Baku in 2019 that Lewis and Vettel had an 'issue' and both of them where the championship contenders that year, until Ferrari's engine performance issues suddenly occured and they where slower... Baku seems to produce some rather interesting outcomes since it joined the calendar... I quite like it... good complex middle sector with some opportunities for overtaking and then being a street track, some bumps and off cambers in to corners.

There is no prime Lewis. He is a professional sportsman, he makes mistakes as they all do

Wow great race today, Max really starting to shine and Lewis having to accept he isn't top dog for now at least. Its great the races are so close.

Also good to see Perez as the wingman Redball wanted but never got with Albon or Gasly.

How good is Nico Rosbergs questions post race, he really knows how to ask team bosses uncomfortable questions.

side note - Liam Lawson DTM debut win in a Ferrari at Monza (2nd overall)........ That should help his stocks within Redball group.

Yeah great race. I dont get how Lewis said a few times they need to find out why they are so fast in the straight. They ran a noticeably lower downforce rear wing, as they all know. Now Mercedes are slow in the straight as Lewis also said. Weird. Mercs are a brute force car, its all about power and clean air. Thats one strategy. The other is a more adaptable car where you can tweak this and that, such as the rear wing, etc. RBR have clearly gained some HP, there is probably not a lot in it now HP wise, Mercedes a tad ahead IMO still

Heard that, who has it and who doesn't?
