With a few seasons under your belt and some good results, the money in this sport can be quite astonishing!

Part of Lawson's brief in 2025 will be to win the battle of the 'rookie' drivers. I expect him to comfortably best Bearman, Doohan, Bortaleto, and Hadjar. Not 100% sure about Antonelli. Idealy Lawson will be wheel to wheel with all the top teams but think his main rival may be Piastri at McLaren. If he can be there or thereabouts with the Aussie then I think he will have a secure future at RBR.

you have a lot of confidence in the RB car. it's a dog to drive according to Perez, very messed up design. Lawson kicked Max out of Q3 in Singapore in the VCarb. i hope he doesn't get bucked around in the car that Perez failed to tame.

I’m thinking that the uptick in NZ F1TV new subscribers (like me) due to LL will not offset the downturn in subscribers in Mexico. 🤔

Graet news for all Kiwis...I hope Liam will be patient and play second fiddle and be right behind Max until he has established himself in the garage..I'm sure he could adapt to the Max only RB car as he did at VCARB and we can see him shine in 2028 probably?

The only drawback for me is not getting the trackside Martin Brundle type stuff. I really enjoy that and find it’s a good way to hear a lot of background info and the issues of the day, gossip and so on. Is there any sort of equivalent stuff on F1TV?

Over the course of the year there will still be times when I’ll get SSN month by month - and at those times I’ll still be able to watch Brundle et al.

Brundle Jr is with F1TV...but yeah, the other information from Sky is much for exciting than F1TV...sadly can't get those without paying a huge premium

The car is the same as it always was. Not slower, not worse. They maximised their car first, others caught up. It has a couple of quirks that do cost time but that didnt matter, now it does. Recent updates show they are working on that. End of the day I dont buy the "Its Max's car that's how he likes it)  Wings, dampers etc are all adjustable on each car

Perez's comments are his attempt to insulate himself from fault

Albon has described how he got into a confidence spiral as the car became twitchier. The front end was to suit Max's style of cornering. There must be limits on how much they can dial back the 2nd car. Lawson has driven the car without self-destructing.

There was a comment about Liam liking the car with the same setup as max. That sounded promising. Do think the red bull car is not as hot a ticket as it was a couple of years ago. Currently slots in around 3/4 team on the grid alongside Mercedes, whereas McLaren and Ferrari are now tied in slot 1&2. Just last year they were #1 by far.

Also the salaries need to account for bonuses too.

Watched a few YT clips tonight. As we all know, Liam had the edge in the media and online. Now, the guns are out. Many hoped it was Yuki as he deserves it. The phrase deserves it was common. That Yuki should have got the seat is the theme now.

Me, if I had to pick one reason, its that they are both very close. Yuki had 4 years to get here, Liam didnt. We have seen new drivers get told that they have a few races to get up to speed, very fair. But Liam didnt, he became a sudden fill in driver, was on the race. 2024 again a fill in driver, on the pace. Yes, Yuki improved, but why? He was pressured to impress against Yuki, and to be fair, he did. Thats the difference, Liam was on the pace out of the blocks. Even 2025 he will be on new tracks, he will be fine

Agree, you can't dial it all out, but when Checo says its undriveable, while Max is sailing away, thats a stretch to me. Many drivers like a strong front end, but IMHO, Checo choked. Kyvat, Gasly and Albon probably tried to race Max. Bad idea. Do your best, it will work out, as Gasly and Albon have since shown

I do have confidence in the RBR design team, yes. My understanding is that Pierre Wache was the main technical brain behind the all-conquering 2023 car, and he's still there. The car was good early in 2024 until they appeared to take a wrong turn with the design. I definitely back them to build a podium-capable car in 2025, and for Lawson to be able to drive it consistently into the points.

The problem Perez had with the car is the same problem Ricciardo had in his later efforts. They both suffered from an inability to adapt. Both were obviously very experienced at the end and I think this actually worked against them. Lawson is more in the Vertsappen and Norris mold in terms of age, the younger drivers appear to be able to come to terms with changing car characteristics more easily than some of the older guys.

It's a shame Ricciardo never got to drive the RB in anger, the Mclaren that he had trouble with was a weak front end car that developed into an unpredictable car. Rather than beat the drivers up the designers need to front the criticism.

Bit of a disappointing turn-out this year, no Max, Lewis, Fernando, Kevin, Nico, Zhou, Jack.
