A heavily biased article though. If it can be shown that the safety of patrons is maintained, and that these drivers are capable, no issue. But I gather anyone can be a driver as long as the have a clean record, that doesnt make them professional as per the article.
Seems to me that Uber need to market themselves. That way their product will get the buy in from individuals (as in kiwis) and not Uber Ltd from overseas. After all, if the drivers are customers are kiwis, and it takes off, that will place pressure on the old guard. I'd like to know what The Taxi Fed does when it finds out its drivers are moonlighting?

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
richms: No, its because they clearly see it as an easier way to get jobs and like the fact they dont have to hassle with getting payment at completeion of the journey and have no worrys about runners etc.
