Our thoughts should be for those lost and their families.

this is sad news.            truely only a missile will cause this.    also reorts of russian commander in ukraine bragging in online tweets about it.

russia reportedly rushing to remove all evidence on line about the bragging but not before the bragging and websites were copied.

whatever thr rumours, hopefully the truth will come out and not politcal propaganda.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and Malysian airlines which may fold over this of which they had no control over

Russian commanders have a good history of being rogues. So probably not really linked to Putin.

Shooting down a commercial airliner isn't something to brag about. killing 295 innocent civilians!

And Russian emergency services want to send "help". Surely to remove any evidence of Russian weapons being used to shot down a civil plane.

Not the first civil casualty in a conflict zone. And by Gulf Crisis he means the first one, with Bush Sr.

I remember that conflict vividly. I thought that was world war 3.

Korean Airlines.
The Iran Airlines shoot-down was in 1988.

SAMs which can shoot down an airliner at cruise altitude are serious weapons.  It's barely conceivable that in this day and age, anybody with access to such weapons would not also be able to positively identify their target.

Officials now claim offically of a recording they have of rebels shooting the plane down.

This is not good if Russia is indirectly involved.   Just shudder to think possible ramifications
