I have reached the point I just don't give a damn now. I am going to build a replacement for my iMac and have some fun over the next month or so. Life is too short to allow dickhead politicians mess with my day.
nathan:
Of all the things a racist, sexist, uncouth, embarrassing, pitiful President does, the Dems choose to Impeach on an issue Americans struggle to understand.
This impeachment is a stupid political stunt that will backfire on the Dems.
I have no doubt that this will not swing the needle on Trumps core base of support one iota. But who it may reach are those too disenfranchised to vote, or those more moderate Republican supporters who still actually believe in the law and order values that traditionally have been a hallmark of the Republican party.
nathan: @bartender I’m not a Trump supporter. I’m an Independent. I’m a New Zealander living in America, who loves politics
I’m simply pointing out how I believe this will play out. It doesn’t matter what this echo chamber thread of Trump hate thinks, what matters is American citizens, who vote.

So @nathan you're "not a Trump supporter" but cannot answer a simple question. Why is it so hard to answer either way? As you seem to have fairly firm views on everything else including the esoteric nature of it all.
Why do you struggle to answer the fairly simple question as I don't think it is difficult to answer it's just you don't want to, I will ask it again in the hope that perhaps you *might* be able to answer it.
- Did Trump use the power of his presidency to pressure a foreign country to publicly announce the initiation of an investigation into his domestic political rival?
YES) If you think Trump did do it and it is nothing to worry about then I assume you are fine for any president or politician to do it in any democracy (including NZ) in the future to behave the same way irrespective of political party?
NO) If you don't think Trump attempted to influence an foreign country to investigate a political rival when Trump appointees (Sondland) have testified to say that Trump did happen? And if that didn't happen then why didn't any of the central figures in this case (Rudy) come and testify under oath that it didn't happen?
In 2020 NZ is hosting APEC again. We're gonna get a US president here. Either Trumpy or someone else.

Hasn't he (Trump) broken just about every other treaty / agreement already?
What makes you think the USA will still be part of APEC when the conference time comes around?
It might clash with golf at The Mar-a-Lago Club! (And I know which one he would choose to go to)

Christianity Today, which is the Worlds largest evangelical Christian publication, came out today in support of Trump's removal from office.
This is a pretty big deal. Is the tide of support for Trump slowly starting to turn? I have no doubt the GOP will throw him under the bus as soon as he becomes a political liability to them.
I can't get the site to come up but I played the CNN report. You are right. This is a pretty big deal. If the evangelicals turn against Trump, he is toast.

The Washington Post - Trump now bears the indelible mark of impeachment
Dec. 20, 2019
On Wednesday, President Trump became only the third president in the nation’s history to be impeached.
The House vote marked one of the rare moments in Trump’s life where he has faced concrete accountability for his actions. ...
On Wednesday night, Katy Tur, an MSNBC anchor who covered Trump’s campaign, tweeted out the myriad ways Trump has long evaded accountability ...
“This is the first time - if you don’t count 2018 and the election there - that Donald Trump has suffered political consequences for his actions,” she said.
“He faced none during the campaign. Not for the Muslim ban. Not for The Access Hollywood tape, and the dozens - dozens of women, more than a dozen women - who have accused him of sexual harassment or abuse. Not for calling Mexicans crossing the border ‘rapists.’ Not for calling on Russia to interfere in the 2016 election. Not for calling his political opponent to be locked up. Not for denigrating a Gold Star family. ...
“Until now”, she concluded. ...

We need to get the "Baby Trump" balloon from the UK if he is coming .
