That’s simply not true. I’m an unaffiliated voter, who votes on issues not ideology.

Questioning the political sanity of Dems pursuing impeachment, or the logic of 5G being taonga, does not make me partisan whatsoever

I'm not sure 'racist' is quite the right word to use here, but I do wonder what is the issue with people who object to giving Maori a leg up over part of the radio spectrum or any other natural resource just because they weren't using walkie-talkies in pre-colonial times. The spectrum has always been there. It was there when moa still walked the earth. It has always been part of this country's potential. Why shouldn't those we dispossessed have a share of it?

Yes agree racist probably isn’t exactly the right word

Personally I am all for moving forward as a nation together, reparations, full and final settlements etc. I’m proud to be a NZer, especially when I’m overseas, and particularly that we choose a different path, respecting indigenous, unlike our neighbors.

But at some point these separatist policies, Maori parliamentary seats, this attitude or what’s mine is mine and what’s yours is 1/2 mine too, causes division and a blame game, that needs a line drawn under it.

By your logic, Maori should not be allowed to live in State houses, which also didn't exist in 1840. I think the idea is that pakeha latecomers owe them something for all the rapes, massacres, land confiscations, unjust incarcerations, poor health outcomes and general deprivation as an oppressed minority. But I guess you have a different definition of racism.

 

 

 

 

 



Undiscovered radio spectrum cannot be taonga

Being branded racist for calling out separatist policies is ridiculous

Your average Maori friends and neighbors won’t see a single cent of this money

 

 

 

The taonga is their brain and body, the radio waves go through it.

 

Do you know for a fact the average maori sees no benefit, because I know lots who have and do.

We're all straying into ad hominem attacks.

Trump does this all the time, for instance Trump calling Greta an angry girl, instead of discussing climate change

I do it too, when I joke about Trump's diet, looks, and his various insane claims such as genius.

However we better off calling out countless Trump falsehoods than Trump's failures as a well-adjusted, moral and secure person.

I think Trump has set some institutes and policies back 20 years, such as Americans' access to a clean, safe, just, equal and stable environment. He may have even started the death of NATO.

Accidently he has removed most moderates in the Republican party. Whether this is good or bad time will tell.

Believe what you will

The challenge with supporting the Dems is the party is extremely divided, hypocritical, inept and corrupted by the establishment. If you don’t live in America it may be hard to get your head around.

I am super impressed by the Justice Democrats, and will very likely be voting for Bernie in the upcoming Primaries. Biden is Hilary 2.0 and part of the problem not the solution.

Unfortunately Trump will simply brand him as a Socialist and brainwash the American voters, but I believe he has the best chance out of current Dem candidates

Happy to move on. I still haven't decided on a candidate I support and would vote for if I was eligible. I preferred Bernie over Hillary last time but haven't settled on anyone now. My own concern, and I suspect that of many voters, is not who is the best Democratic candidate, but who has the best chance of beating Trump. I think Trump is such an evil presence that any other candidate would better. Micky Mouse would be better. I am a through and through anyone but Trump supporter. For me this election is not about policies, but only about who can displace Trump. That is all that matters.

 

Of the candidates who participated in the last debate, I might favour Amy Klobuchar or Pete Buttegieg at present, but I don't have strong feelings either way.

theres only 2 possibilities, with a path to Primary victories based on current polls. Bernie or Biden

 

Biden is disqualified IMHO because of his gaffs and struggles to string sentences together in the debates, the fact he states he wants to return America to the Obama days, well that gave us Trump

 

search for “Biden Corn Pop” on YT if you want to see an illogical rambling campaign speech where he tells everyone he loves little kids stroking his hairy legs

 

to your point about debating vs. Trump, that is the absolute key, he would get ripped apart, when asked publicly last week at a townhall about the soft-corruption of Hunter in Ukraine, he had a meltdown.  Imagine what Trump will do to him.

I do not regard someone who cannot pronounce anonymous or tell the difference between oranges and origins as a winning debater, but I agree Bernie would do better against him than Biden. Which is a pity, because any of the female candidates would do better than either. What is needed is someone who can take Trump's lies, mispronunciations and alternative facts, and ram them back down his fat throat. With Trump, polite debate is out the window, as are the usual rules. Anyone who wants to win against him needs to jump on every single misstatement as soon as he makes it and fling it back at him. That will make him angry, flustered and confused and he will go off-script and start spewing incoherent rubbish that will make even evangelicals take pause.
