Impeachment would not be unusual. Conviction would be unusual. B.Clinton for instance, impeached but not convicted. I'd be surprised if H.Clinton was convicted based on what I've seen so far. Plenty of wiggle room, and lots of power to swing things. Impeachment could happen though.

I don't entirely agree. I think for everyone who would normally vote Republican who this time aren't because of Trump, there will be someone else who would otherwise not have voted Republican who will this time. So much of the US want, not just a change from the current Democrat presidency, but a change from the whole political status quo.

 

Trump's rhetoric and pandering to the lowest common denominator has got him enormous support from the public.

 

The Democrats should have gotten behind Bernie Sanders. Then you would have two guys with an image of "shaking up the establishment", which would mean people wanting a change would have a choice - where now they feel Trump is the only option for them.

Why would Hillary step down once voted in? My point is that by having Hilary as their nominee they may have cost themselves the election.

I don't think so. If she does step down, or die, or whatever, then I believe that the VP automatically becomes President.

 

And, as was already pointed out, why would she step down if elected? If elected, *she* has a mandate.

From what I have seen it was more her IT advisers in the State Dept that need to be fired? 

 

So...Trump incites Russia to hack US email servers to gain advantage over Clinton. these stolen emails are then published very illegally...and the FBI then reopens an already closed case against Clinton days before an election................

 

Something is very wrong here.....

Yep, end of the day its about Republicans voting for the Republican party. And for Democrats wanting a change. I feel the Trump supporters are a squeaky wheel. Its time for a change, Obamacare and so on. I still maintain this would be a GOP landslide, but due to him, its diluted to a tight race, with GOP a little behind. When real people make real votes, GOP might lose, because of him. or win, despite him

Yeah, but Trump has sounded a rallying call that a lot of people relate too. And there are a lot of people out there (hopefully less than 50%) who thinks he's fantastic. I'm not sure that charisma is the right word for what Trump does, but he sure can get people fired up. Clinton on the other hand... no one is getting exited about Clinton; people want her to win because she is the lesser of two evils.

 

Also, the Republicans absolutely did not want Trump to become their nominee. Whereas Clinton had the vast majority of the Democratic establishment supporting her.

 

So the Republicans are stuck with a nominee they didn't want, but the Democrats supported theirs all the way.

 

EDIT: Whoever wins, they should have a do-over with decent candidates.

On the other hand, with Trump as the nominee it should have been a landslide for the Democrats. It takes a very unlikable nominee on the Democrat side for this to be such a tight race.
