If they found a cure and/or vaccination for covid tomorrow, all the rabid conspiracy nuts would be up in arms about it.

The Washington Post - The 5-Minute Fix: Everything and everyone Trump is blaming for coronavirus

He just added the impeachment hearings, even though it ended on 5 February

During impeachment hearings

“It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.” — 22 January.

After impeachment hearings concluded

“I think the virus is going to be — it’s going to be fine.” —10 February.

“Because of all we’ve done, the risk to the American people remains very low. … When you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero. That’s a pretty good job we’ve done.” — 26 February .

“It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.” — 28 February 28

“This is their new hoax.” — 28 February

This item isn't entirely clear, but it appears to suggest that a train engineer crashed his train trying to hit a hospital ship in LA because he believed right-wing conspiracy crap about a deep state takeover, or something to that effect. When is the deep state going to wake up and start sending some black helicopters after the brain-infecting media that are pushing this irresponsible rubbish?

TRUMP PRACTICES DISTANCING HIMSELF FROM ALL HIS PRIOR STATEMENTS ABOUT THE CORONAVIRUS

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Issuing a new distancing guideline on Wednesday, Donald Trump said that he was now practicing distancing from all of his previous statements about the coronavirus.

“As of today, I will be keeping a great distance between myself and anything I said about COVID-19 in the months of January, February, and March,” he said. “I will be staying at least six feet away from those statements, and probably more like ten thousand feet.”

Trump said that he could not predict how long his new practice of distancing would continue, but indicated, “Next week, I will probably be distancing myself from things I said this week. This could go on for a long time.”

He urged all Americans to distance themselves from his previous statements, as well. “If you’re watching CNN or MSNBC and they start showing things I said in February, leave the room immediately,” he advised.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the esteemed virologist, expressed approval of Trump’s new policy. “Personally, I have been distancing myself from his statements for months,” he said.

Trump crowned? No faux King way!

The Washington Post projection of deaths is useless. The US is in the midst of exponential growth. Since there is no vaccine, excluding the point where everyone who can get infected, has been infected, you can't know when the curve will flatten.

Unbelievable. What's even worse:
Moreno has been charged with one count of train wrecking, the Justice Department said.

America seems to have a separate law for nearly every event. Wonder how old this one is?

Pity they haven't done anything about the train wreck in the white house.

The Washington Post - Commander of confusion: Trump sows uncertainty and seeks to cast blame in coronavirus crisis

April 3, 2020

In the three weeks since declaring the novel coronavirus outbreak a national emergency, President Trump has delivered a dizzying array of rhetorical contortions, sowed confusion and repeatedly sought to cast blame on others.

History has never known a crisis response as strong as his own, Trump says - yet the self-described wartime president claims he is merely backup.

He has faulted governors for acting too slowly and, as he did Thursday, has accused overwhelmed state and hospital officials of complaining too much and of hoarding supplies.

America is winning its war with the coronavirus, the president says - yet the death toll rises still, and in the best-case scenario more Americans will die than in the wars in Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan and Iraq combined.

The economy is the strongest ever and will rebound in no time, he says - yet stock markets have cratered and in the past two weeks a record 10 million people filed for unemployment insurance.

As Trump has sought to remake his public image from that of a skeptic of the pandemic’s danger to a savior forestalling catastrophe and protecting hundreds of thousands of people from a vicious contagion, he also has distorted the truth, making edits and creating illusions at many turns. ...

The result is chaotic.  ...

I saw a news item with Trump appearing to claim Lyme disease originated in Connecticut. This kind of thinking cannot solve these problems.

It isn't thinking. It is what a worm does when it sees light or dark patches.

Bloomberg - Trump’s Approval Rating Is Holding Up. For Now.

April 3, 2020

"Trump has in fact received a bit of rally-around-the-flag support, with his approval numbers reaching a new post-honeymoon high.

"He’s retained his peak for several days now. Granted, it’s not exactly impressive, with about 46% approving of him and about 50% disapproving.

"The good news for Trump is that if there’s a hard ceiling on his support, it’s at least a bit higher than we previously knew, and perhaps high enough to enable him to get narrowly re-elected.

"The bad news is that if this is the best he can do, everything will have to go perfectly for him in November. ... "

Revolutions have started on a lot less.

Thank goodness we're in New Zealand.

Regarding Trump's popularity, he better hope the scientists he's been belittling actual do come up with a quick solution, because people don't like snake oil salesman when their grandparents die.
