Things going well for republicans, does not look like Harris has any chance left.

This is the problem, the US had the chance to Purge maga from Repubn's. IMO the only way now is to create a 3rd party.

My only issue with that is, having such a jarring acronym until it finally just doesnt hve enough solo support.

I think the majority of republicans still want their traditional party back........

Clinton being a no-show in 2016 was the most memorable part of the 2016 election for me. Seeing Harris repeat that is disappointing.

That speech by the co-chair of the Harris campaign was ominous.

Never underestimate Americans.

RFK in charge of Healthcare in USA !

Elon Musk cutting trillions in Government spending except on SpaceX and Tesla subsidies.

Russia gets Ukraine and starts fixing things in Moldavia, Baltics, Poland, it would be nice to have east Germany back.

So given Trump is going huge on tariffs how are our farm and export industries feeling ?

Jesus Christ, I'm absolutely stunned (and depressed).

Moreso that all the clowns that voted the orange buffoon back in again think he gives 2 stuffs about them. He does not, in any way, shape, or form

Even more scary is the prospect of President James Vance. He's a competent version of Trump, Christ knows what he's going to do if he ends up president.

Shall there be two cities of Minas Moscow, grinning at each other across a dead land filled with rottenness?

Maga is predominantly rural working and lower-middle class. They used to be split between the Dems and the Repubs, but the Dems neglected them (not too dissimilar how Labour were abandoned in the last election) and Trump made himself relatable to them.

When you look at many blue states, they are red-dominant (MAGA support tipped them over) .. except for the large population centres.

I think MAGA will go away with Trump ... but it's gonna be interesting to see the trajectory moving forward. Where both parties will need to re-invent themselves (Labour also needs to do this)

Politico actually had a piece on this a few days ago: https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2024/11/04/maga-trump-2024-elections-00185283

Okay, this was obviously written before it looked like he was going to win. But one day he won't be here at all - who's going to step into his place then? They also look at a few alternatives.

The Retrumplicans also worked very, very hard over the last four years to make sure Your Vote Doesn't Count, so it's not purely a case of "what were the voters thinking?".

I think it would be a miracle for Harris to win at this point. Looks like there’s a good chance Trump will even win the popular vote; when was the last time a Republican managed that?

He didn’t end the world during his last presidency, and he (probably) won’t this time.

I really don’t see him trying to create a dictorship, or any other means to maintain power beyond his new term. He only ran again because of his bruised ego, and the two term limit means he can leave office in January 2029 with his ego intact. He’ll give zero shits whether he’s succeeded by a Republican or a Democrat.
