Rikkitic:
As valuable as your conspiracy theories.
What conspiracy theories?
The suggestion that there is some kind of double standard or hidden agenda in the treatment of the leaks of different party leaders. Can we get back on the subject of this thread?

That seemed a reasonable question.
Lets stick to the topic and keep the personal attacks out.
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
More importantly, has the media come up with a XXXX-gate type moniker yet for this mess?

Agreed. The topic is the flaming trainwreck that Bridges' leadership has become. The trigger for this, and the theme throughout the thread is the leak from inside his party and his subsequent ordering of an inquiry and the prospect of a forthcoming police investigation.
Each of these things also occurred with the leak of the Meka Whaitiri report. Yet the outcomes from each event are remarkably different. I thought it would be interesting to discuss (seeing as it's a politics forum) what might be the reasons for the differing outcomes.
PS. I'm reasonably sure that the term you were reaching for was Chemtrails @Rikkitic

This thread is about Bridges. It is even in the title. If you want to discuss something else, feel free to start a new thread (seeing as it's a politics forum).
PS. I'm reasonably sure that chemtrails don't exist. Just like your conspiracy theory.

When it comes to an enquiry no matter what party is involved it is a process in which the whole matter is buried. The last thing any politician wants is an enquiry that actually finds something, they panic, they have no idea what to do with it. Enquiries are the ultimate "to be seen to be doing something" illusion that has a preordained goal of finding nothing and doing same.
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

how about "who opened the gate gate" or "who let the dogs out gate"
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
I saw a T-Shirt the other day I nearly bought, which said..
"for F's sakes. *I* let the Fing dogs out!"

The only people talking about conspiracy theories right now are Jamie Lee Ross and yourself.
I don’t think it’s unreasonable for someone to compare and contrast the leak inquiries of both party leaders.
FWIW, I personally believe that "effective media management" and "controlling the narrative" are not conspiracy theories, they are in fact key elements to success for any political movement. It's clear from the events of the past month that Ardern and the Labour Party are doing a much better job in this respect than Bridges and the National Party.
If he is mentally unstable that can be a legitimate point of public concern if he is a parliamentary representative. There can be no excuse whatsoever for delving into his private life, especially his marriage. That is simply despicable. No excuse, no exception. I didn't hear what Bennett said but if she really was suggesting anything along those lines she should be drummed out of parliament along with the rest of that vile crew. There are lines. That kind of thing crosses them. And anyone attempting to defend such behaviour should be deeply ashamed.

"What was put to him was inappropriate behaviour that is unacceptable from a married Member of Parliament."
PBennet quote. Does she mean that single people or unmarried people have different areas of acceptance. I think the best thing for the National party would be have a complete clean out and star afreshh
