Pew Research Center - Amid Campaign Turmoil, Biden Holds Wide Leads on Coronavirus, Unifying the Country

October 9, 2020

The new survey by Pew Research Center, conducted Sept. 30 - Oct. 5 among 11,929 U.S. adults, including 10,543 registered voters, finds that Biden maintains an overall lead in voter preferences: 52% of registered voters say if the election were held today, they would vote for Biden or lean toward voting for him, while 42% support or lean toward voting for Trump.

A 2016 Trump, with Pelosi offering a 2.2T deal would have said make it 3T and put my name on the checks, and would have used the power of the presidency to push the Republicans to do it.

You'd think the Republicans would want to stop an electoral blood bath, but McConnell knows that a lot of Republicans think that the pathetic amount of stimulus already is enough, let alone anymore, especially the 1.8T the President is talking about, McConnell is not going to stoke Republican disloyalty by bringing up a bill that will not pass.

I think it's not his advisors. From my observation he's acting irrational because of his medication/illness. Ever seen your grandfather try to plan stuff when having a virus, on medication and in hospital.

I think the major issue is his narcissism. Losing, being wrong, is exactly what a narcissist doesn't want. Cannot fix that so its rant ville from here on. He will argue and disagree on everything that is against him, he's already losing it. Irrational.

If the polls were close, he would be in his element, despite being not well, thats my opinion. In any case, he is history, as has been the case for a while now, there are Republicans who want him out, polls want him out. I read an article today that US survey showed that the majority of Americans feel they are better off now. That always aligns with Presidential support, or lack of it. This means that they feel they are better off but still want him out. The next 3 weeks will be full of irrational venting, then he's gone. Well, Im not sure what in the Constitution allows anyone to ignore the vote.

I think it goes further than that. This is someone who has had everything his own way all of his life. He surrounds himself with yes-men. As the boss of his business he was used to yelling orders and having people jump to do what he says. I think he genuinely believes he is superior to everyone else, and that he can bend every circumstance to his will. He simply can't conceive that he can lose, so all he has to do is just keep doing what he is doing, only more of it. I think he genuinely believes, down deep where it counts, that he can make this virus do what he wants it to. That is way beyond simple narcissism.

Trump has always been a textbook Narcissist.

One psychiatrist who specialises in personality disorders recently described Trump as the worst case of Narcissistic personality disorder that he had ever seen.

Trump has always perceived himself to be fabulously wealthy, successful, and "perfect".

As already stated, nobody says "no" to Trump. The ultimate "spoiled little rich kid." Totally amoral.

Since becoming President, his personality disorder has got worse.

His "mystery illness" in 2019 was not a series of mini-strokes, Trump has declared.

COVID has made things much worse - Trump is now frail, old, and quite literally, a Narcissist on steroids.

Malignant Narcissists are most dangerous when faced with public humiliation, and that is exactly where we are now. ... 😶
