itxtme: Germany has the biggest GDP in Europe. Germany made that GDP with cheap Russian gas continuing to be the key European manufacturing hub. Germany was weak against Russia in 2014, and in fact built another (since destroyed) gas pipe line despite the annexation of Crimea.

I would say it was more misguided than weak. Naïvely former Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel may have believed Russia would eventually embrace peace and stability.

She never seemed to see Putin as the psychopath he is.

Either a sunk cost dilemma or perhaps it was a co-dependency relationship

Angela Merkel seems to have come from the Planet of Extreme Wishfull Thinking.
Wait long enough and something magical will happen to make things right.
She did not seem to even get it when Putin did the dog thing.

Medvedev seems to be bucking to be a better Putin than Putin.
Or Putin's madder dog than Kadyrov, or Prigozhin

He has been saying many unhinged things...
Is there something in the air in the Kremlin that does this to people.

The energy price graph is real and of course for Oil they offer a $30 or 30% discount I forget which to India and China on top.
So its all going to plan, not so much.

Unless there was an update and it really was Musk posting for Medvedev, giving him a hand?

Looking up things he has said and interviews they are quite out there anyway.

It's also been announced that they get a packet of pryaniki (tea biscuits) each, and if their unit has performed particularly well, a pair of new socks.

To be fully exempt from tax the officers ensure the enlisted men are also exempt from being paid.

I received the following from a Ukrainian. It's an article about the gift of 100,000 dead Russian soldiers. One image is a bit grizzly.

Focus UA: “Unblocked the Patriot air defence system”: Ukrainians reacted to the 100,000th loss of the RF Armed Forces with memes

A meme has Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a bag and suggested what weapons they would receive from partners of the Armed Forces of Ukraine when Russia loses 200,000 of its military personnel.

Today, December 22, Russia's total losses in Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion have exceeded 100,000 troops . This inspired the Ukrainians to create memes dedicated to the Commander-in-Chief and the Patriot air defence system.

The inscriptions are as follows:

Behind him it has the name of 19th century an Ukrainian comedy writer known as "One Hundred Thousand." It is a comedy about a money counterfeiter.

On the bag is one hundred thousand (100,000 Russians will soon be killed).

Then "The holiday is coming" (A Coca Cola slogan).
