Minister Reti is busy working doing his job:

RadioNZ: While the [ADHD] diagnosis shift to GPs could happen now, the initiation of [drug] therapy could not begin until Medsafe applied a Gazette notice of change to the law, Bradford said. "We're going through a consultations process with them at present around that change. "There's nothing firm at the moment, but we would certainly hope that it's within the next six to 12 months."

Associate Minister Costello on the other hand is busy working for something else.

David Seymour the other Associate Minister of Health is going around kicking and tipping things over and making more work for others with his new directive:

NZHerald: “I do not believe this is an appropriate expectation to place on Pharmac,” Seymour said in his letter. “Pharmac’s role should focus on delivering improved health outcomes underpinned by robust data and evidence, in accordance with its statutory responsibilities. This should serve all New Zealanders based on actual need, without assigning their background as a proxy of need.”

An equitable outcome now includes one third of Costello's tobacco and one third for Seymour's anti-woke campaign.

Tell me again how Labour squandered money saving lives during covid, and National is doing great by cutting health and giving tax breaks to tobacco companies:

How the Government could remove Interislander ferry business from KiwiRail – The Front Page - NZ Herald

Who'd have thought this government would end up privatising Kiwirail? Because that's it by any other name.

“What I’ve heard is that ministers are considering setting up a Schedule 4A company, which is slightly different from a state-owned enterprise, to procure the new vessels and then potentially to also operate them once they arrive in two, three, four years,” Lewis says.

“So, not a full-scale privatisation, I don’t think anyone’s talking about that but definitely you could see the ownership mix change over time.”

Kiwirail was having the decision-making process about the ferries taken away from them for a reason.

Besides, they'd still have oversight of the actual rail network if they want to have oversight of something that doesn't seem to work very well.

I am sick to death of hearing government figures blame the previous administration for their problems. No-one cares whose fault it is. We care about getting it fixed. If you can't fix it, get the hell out of the way so someone can. You wanted the job, you got elected, now quit whining about the other one and do something!

My thoughts exactly. I mentioned this earlier in the thread and someone told me that Labour did this a bit at the start of their term in 2017 - but here we almost a year on into this new! improved! government, and yet they just can't stop endlessly banging that drum about how bad the last lot were 🙄

I see that Luxon is again screwing the Universities just like all the previous governments for decades.

Inflation at about 3.5% (household inflation at over 6%) , increase in funding 2%

There is no "fat" to cut, they are now just cutting staff and courses and dumbing down those remaining courses.

Where is Peter Gluckman's report ?, That was due a month back...

First time reading a political thread? This one very much cares who's fault it is (providing it's bald man bad.)

Hey, I got paid today and received my $20/week tax cut (on a monthly basis).

Unfortunately, it will all go to "updated" Wellington City rates.

Seriously, our rates went up exactly the same amount as the tax cut. Add paying for medicines, car registration and other things and our family is no better off than before.

Thanks, Luxon.

/sarcasm

That doesn't change the fact that bald man bald's response to every criticism seems to be the other guy left such a mess behind! At some point you have to either bake brownies or get out of the kitchen.
