The media? I don't really see the media had any impact on Bridges or Muller.

Muller's hat got more scrutiny than Kiwibuild has in the last six months.

Maybe cos KB was shelved about that time ago? Its no secret it was a failed venture due to the already exploded housing affordability, so they sucked it up and shelved it

The hat saga was just a few days anyhow, as you know

Of course it did - but Muller could have defused that debacle in an instant.  Defending public display of a Trump hat - no matter how honest and sincere his given reasons were - was a bad political decision.

The Muller's hat episode was over pretty quick as I remember. Muller eventually said something along the lines of he fully understood the reaction and the hat would not be on display in his new office. Personally I thought that was handled very well at the end of the day.

Journeyman: Turns out he lacks the stones to do the job. Did he think it'd be easy or something?

That's a fairly heartless thing to say about someone who appears to have had a breakdown.

22 May - 14 July. Is that the shortest time someone has been the leader of a political party in NZ?

Yes, I don’t think anybody comes close. The next nearest tenure would be Mike Moore who spent 59 days as Prime Minister before losing an election.

I think he beat David Parker, who was a caretaker while Labour was busy shooting itself in the foot, by a few days.

History repeats...

There hasn't been much else to say about the government in the last few months. No big news at all really.

If he's had a mental breakdown then that's news to me.

100%. I criticised him as many did, politicians are open game. But if its health issues (might be stress) family issues, and I read today maybe mental health issues. Well, if its mental health issues, good on him for putting himself and family first.

Lots of people tipping Collins and Goldsmith.

Juco has her own battle to fight but she will be an interesting proposition for the debates.

Goldsmith is very anti-public transport and I won't vote for the Nats if he is in a key role
