In its third hearing this month laying out the findings of its investigation so far, the panel detailed the intense pressure campaign Mr. Trump and the conservative lawyer John Eastman waged against Mr. Pence to try to get him to overturn the election, which the panel says directly contributed to the violent siege of Congress.

Both men knew the plan was unlawful ... and ultimately, Mr. Eastman sought a pardon following the riot after being informed by one of Mr. Trump’s top White House lawyers that he had criminal exposure for hatching the scheme.

The panel also presented in chilling detail how Mr. Trump, knowing that rioters had violently stormed the Capitol with Mr. Pence inside, posted a tweet condemning his vice president for failing to reject the election results, sending Mr. Pence fleeing for his life just 40 feet away from the mob that was calling for his execution. ...

The retired conservative federal Judge J. Michael Luttig, who advised Mr. Pence to resist Mr. Trump’s effort to overturn the election, delivered strongly worded testimony in which he said that if the vice president had gone along, it would have been “tantamount to a revolution,” and “the first constitutional crisis since the founding of the republic.”

That Pence was pressured by Trump’s team to do something unconstitutional is one of the linchpins of the committee’s argument that Trump is responsible for the violence of Jan. 6.

Trump banging on about January 6 is not doing good things for Republicans. Is he still going to be harping on about it if he get the nomination for 2024? I really hope not.

Imagine if, say, Ron De Santis gets it. What then? Would Trump start the election fraud bs again? Or "wah wah, the Republicans are all against me!" ?

The truly alarming aspect is that Ginni Thomas expects everyone to believe that her 'Election Fraud' stance in no way influences her Supreme Court husband's thinking. Clarence Thomas should resign.

“Donald Trump and his allies and supporters are a clear and present danger to American democracy,” Luttig said.

“That’s not because of what happened on January 6. It’s because to this very day, the former president and his allies and supporters pledge that in a presidential election of 2024, if the former president or his anointed successor as the Republican party presidential candidate were to lose that election, that they would attempt to overturn that 2024 election in the same way that they attempted to overturn the 2020 election but succeed in 2024 where they failed in 2020.”

The former president took to his own social media platform, Truth Social, to complain that the hearings are “low rated”, “one-sided”, and “slanderous”.

Further, he demanded that he receive “equal time” to lay out a case for his unfounded allegations of voter fraud in the 2020 election.

Mr Trump posted: “The Fake News Networks are perpetuating lies, falsehoods, and Russia, Russia, Russia type disinformation (same sick people, here we go again!) by allowing the low rated but nevertheless one-sided and slanderous Unselect Committee hearings to go endlessly and aimlessly on (and on and on!).”

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has blamed transgender people for the nationwide shortage of tampons in the United States.

The Georgia Republican claimed the shortage, fueled by supply shortages, is triggered by the White House putting tampons in men’s bathrooms.

“Men have taken over everything. They’re ‘women of the year’ in every category, in women’s categories,” she told conservative Right Side Broadcasting Network.

She continued her diatribe against the transgender community by adding: “Now there’s a shortage of tampons, and that’s probably because men are buying tampons.”

“Are you telling me that this is legit,” host Brian Glenn asked Ms Greene.

She said: “I’m telling you the truth. You can look it up. Look it up on the internet. Everything’s true on the internet.”

“They put tampons in men’s bathrooms,” Ms Greene reiterated, denouncing what she claimed was a “war on women”.

However, in reality, the shortage of tampons has been triggered by rising production costs due to a spike in the prices of raw materials such as cotton and plastic.
