Just saw this story, I hadn't realised Ron had topped that many polls - I thought it was only one:

https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/entertainment/2022/06/piers-morgan-says-whiny-trump-must-be-replaced-with-promising-ron-desantis-if-republicans-want-to-win.html

Can anyone remember if Trump was topping the opinion polls in the 2016 Republican primaries while they were happening (I don't think he was before they started)? It seems so long ago...

This will sound awful, but part of me is inclined to think if America is stupid enough to vote a Republican in again, they really deserve everything that's coming to them.

(Note this comment does not extend to any friends or family I have in America - I care for and worry about them, makes me sad to see what the country's become) 😕

https://edition.cnn.com/2022/06/27/politics/john-eastman-search-phone-january-6/index.html

Eastman contends the [FBI] agents "forced" him to unlock his phone. In court, he is asking a federal judge to force the Justice Department to return his property, destroy records they've obtained and put on hold investigators' access to the phone.

Nope, why should they? You engaged in insurrection, Trump doesn't care about you anymore, and all of your sham lawsuits and schemes failed. It's high time for you to pay the piper. If you didn't do anything wrong, why make requests like this? What have you got to worry about if you're in the clear? Why seek a pardon? The list goes on.

Good news: he could split the Republican vote.

Bad news: It's Ron Desantis

Bad News: It could be Joe Biden again

This is a billboard from 10 months ago

Republicans seemed obsessed with finding pedophiles under every rock.

I wonder if the "lawyer" Eastman would say if a pedophile was making the same demands from the FBI?

I hope she follows the same path as David Madison Cawthorn did. Voters realised (quite rightly) that he was too busy making a fool of himself online and doing absolutely 0 for their community, so they voted him out in the primaries. I hope the people in her electorate think alike and realise she's done very little for them, and they tell her to p--s off, too. That would be the ultimate rebuke for her,

Day 6

The Washington Post - All the bombshells Cassidy Hutchinson dropped about Trump and Jan. 6

breaking  (headings only)

1. Trump knew his supporters had weapons - and encouraged them to march on the Capitol. And he tried to go, too.

2. Trump wrestled with Secret Security agent to go to the Capitol

3. Trump threw dishes - regularly

4. Trump didn’t want to call off the rioters

and ...

The NY Times - Witness Details Trump’s Rage and Meadows’s Inaction on Jan. 6

Ms. Hutchinson testified that Mr. Trump demanded that his supporters be able to move around freely even though he knew they were armed, objecting to the presence of magnetometers to detect weapons.

She testified that “... I overheard the president say something to the effect of, ‘You know, I don’t f-ing care that they have weapons. They’re not here to hurt me. Take the f-ing mags away. Let my people in. They can march to the Capitol from here. Let the people in. Take the f-ing mags away.’”

Cassidy Hutchinson was a top aide to Trump’s last chief of staff, Mark Meadows.

EDIT

Trump, basically a one-man response team for himself, is going after Hutchinson on his social media site, Truth Social. He's using a familiar tack, that he hardly knows "who this person, Cassidy Hutchinson, is."

Typical Trump response when backed into a corner - a variation of "I don't know/barely know this person".

To be fair, he indeed may not know who she is personally - there are a lot of people involved in a presidency. But just because he genuinely may not know her, doesn't mean that she didn't know what was going on.

Worth a read. As all things Trump: exactly what you believed, but worse.

"...Trump was mad that the Secret Service wasn’t letting these armed supporters through security, said Hutchinson, who was in a tent with the president before his rally speech.

‘You know, I don’t even care that they have weapons. They’re not here to hurt me,’
..."

Does Hutchinson's testimony finally mean the end of Trump? At least as a political force?

Wouldn't that be lovely, but I don't know if it will make much difference to his future standing. His underlings (Meadows, etc) who helped him try and pull it off are probably panicking right now though.

Nah - Because they only watch Fox News which is only reporting biased and myopic points of view concerning these hearings, his devotee's will just say "fake news by the Washington paedophilic Democrat's".

Sad that the Murdock's put profits before good and honest reporting.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
