Someone else does everything under Trump's name. The only thing Trump does is spew incoherently about the unfairness of life.

The Washington Post - Justice Dept. seeks to regain access to classified Mar-a-Lago documents

08 September

Federal prosecutors on Thursday asked a judge to restore their access to classified material seized from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, saying their ongoing criminal probe needs to determine if there are sensitive government papers that have not been found yet, and signaling that they plan to appeal the issue to a higher court in the interests of national security.

Justice Department lawyers told U.S. District Judge Aileen M. Cannon that if she does not grant them their requested stay by Sept. 15, they would file their appeal in the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta.*

Cannon on Monday granted a request from Trump to appoint a special master to review the seized documents, telling prosecutors they could not use the material until it was reviewed.  ...

In separate court filings, prosecutors signaled their intent to appeal Cannon’s order and asked her to temporarily suspend two key parts of it: her decision that both classified and unclassified documents should be reviewed by the special master, and that FBI agents and prosecutors may not access even the classified documents for their criminal probe until that review is complete.

*  EDIT:  This court is stacked with six Trump appointees.

I'm confused about the cartoon. Left to right
  • Rudy "it's happy hour somewhere in the world" Giuliani
  • 'QAnon Shaman' Jacob Chansley
  • Mike Lindell, MyPillow
  • George Kent
  • Koolaid man (see Jim Jones)

But George Kent isn't a Trump supporter. Neither are bow-tie wearers Bill Nye, Pee Wee Herman and Eliot "Never Trumper" Cohen.

Maybe it's meant to be Jared in a bow tie?

Although he has been pretty quiet lately and - as far as I know - hasn't commented on the raid or anything.

Summary: Trump's pardon of all crimes of Steve Bannon only covers federal crimes. He's being charged with state crimes, which is fair game, now and in the future.

The Guardian: Steve Bannon charged with money laundering and conspiracy in New York

Top former Trump strategist Steve Bannon has been charged in New York with money laundering, conspiracy and scheme to defraud in connection with his role in a fundraising effort to privately underwrite the construction of the US-Mexico border wall, according to the indictment unsealed on Thursday.

The indictment includes two counts of money laundering in the second degree and conspiracy in the fourth degree. Bannon surrendered himself to the Manhattan district attorney’s office after being told in recent days that charges were imminent, sources familiar with the matter said.

Bannon is facing charges that he siphoned off more than $1m from the “We Build the Wall” fundraising effort that promised to send all proceeds towards underwriting the completion of the US-Mexico border wall to enrich himself and his associates, the 22-page indictment said.
...
“Mr Bannon took advantage of his donors’ political views to secure millions of dollars which he then misappropriated. Mr Bannon lied to his donors to enrich himself and his friends,” James said of the charges, where the top count carries a maximum of 15 years in prison in the event of conviction.

A states rights guy takes a federal pardon and then gets charged by a state?

The Washington Post - Judge dismisses Trump lawsuit against Hillary Clinton over 2016 election

09 September

A federal judge in Florida has dismissed Donald Trump’s lawsuit against former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, saying there was no basis for the former president to claim that Clinton and her allies harmed him with an orchestrated plan to spread false information that his campaign colluded with Russia during the 2016 presidential race.

Trump “is seeking to flaunt a two-hundred-page political manifesto outlining his grievances against those that have opposed him, and this Court is not the appropriate forum,” Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks wrote in a scathing 65-page ruling dated Thursday. ...

Middlebrooks noted “glaring structural deficiencies in the plaintiff’s argument” and said that “such pleadings waste judicial resources and are an unacceptable form of establishing a claim for relief.”

So not all Florida judges are Trump sycophants  🙃

Regarding January 6 attempted coup hearings, First there's talk about following the money.

Second, not mentioned, there's been discussion about vice president Pence testifying. I wonder about Pence thoughts of the hangmen's gallows assembled, and Trump comment that maybe Pence deserved to be hung.

NBC: Jan. 6 committee will dig in on the money behind the riot, Kinzinger says

Representative. Adam Kinzinger, Republican-Illinois, signaled on NBC News' "Meet the Press" that Donald Trump's post-election fundraising efforts could be a "missing piece” in the investigation.

... “I think one of the more intriguing things is going to be some of the financing. The fact that a vast majority of this money was raised under ‘Stop the Steal,’ with no intention of doing anything to stop the so called stop the steal. It was all about raising money and people were abused that way."

It's not a bow tie, it's a bandage. He needed emergency surgery after the principles he'd swallowed lodged in his throat.

New Yorker: So many Trump scandals; so little time

Outrage has steadily lost its power in American politics throughout the past few years. Among Donald Trump’s many political weapons, his ability to brazen his way through scandals that would derail other politicians has long been perhaps his strongest asset. His signature move is to displace talk of one mind-blowing violation by committing yet another mind-blowing violation—a habit that has now produced numerous investigations of him and once again led the former President to dominate our daily discourse. It’s easy to forget about the last controversy because, with Trump, you’re always onto the next one.

Even now, nearly two years after he left office, this familiar debilitating dynamic applies. There are currently multiple serious, ongoing inquiries into Trump and his associated entities, ranging from investigations of the former President’s business to his role in fomenting the January 6th insurrection at the Capitol.

Trump has so many legal problems that he is employing no fewer than nineteen lawyers to represent him, Politico found—a full law firm’s worth of legal D-listers.

There’s the Georgia probe into his efforts to pressure state election officials not to certify Joe Biden’s victory, and, as last month’s F.B.I. search of Mar-a-Lago made public so dramatically, a Justice Department criminal investigation of his refusal to turn over reams of classified information after he left the White House.

Which one to focus on?
