In Trump's case he ensures they barely turn at all.

His children will be left to sort out the mess he has created and he won't care.

The Don's bad day just got worse ...

The New York Times - Virginia Thomas Agrees to Interview With Jan. 6 Panel

breaking

WASHINGTON - Virginia Thomas, the wife of Justice Clarence Thomas who as a conservative activist pushed to overturn the 2020 election, has agreed to sit for an interview with the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

The development could represent a breakthrough for the committee, which for months has sought to interview Ms. Thomas about her communications with a conservative lawyer in close contact with former President Donald J. Trump.

Oh good, now to get Thomas's wife in as well and there's another witness crossed off the list.

Ridiculous how she was more than happy to talk to them, then a week later did a complete about-turn and said she didn't want to. She's hiding something.

Supreme court justice Clarence Thomas wife Virginia is a lawyer, an evil lawyer, but a lawyer nonetheless.

She's like fellow lawyer Rudy Giuliani, except not stinking drunk. I get the impression she wants the limelight badly.

As any lawyer will tell you the first and last rule is "shut the f__k up"

But I wouldn't expect her to plead the fifth amendment, in other words saying "I'm not going to answer that."

So more power to her; I'm sure she'll accidently drown her fellow swimmers in the swamp.

What. the. hell.

Trump told Hannity not to worry, though. There need not be any physical or even anecdotal evidence that he declassified the documents, as the president has the power to do it with nothing more than his mind.

“If you’re the president of the United States, you can declassify just by saying it’s declassified — even by thinking about it,” Trump said. “Because you’re sending it to Mar-a-Lago or wherever you’re sending it. There doesn’t have to be a process. There can be a process, but there doesn’t have to be.”

The Secret Telepathic Unilateral Preemptive Irreversible Declassification defense  😛

The Washington Post - Opinion - Trump keeps digging deeper ...

22 September

Wednesday was bad enough for Donald Trump. Then he dug himself deeper.

The day started off with the announcement that New York Attorney General Letitia James filed a devastating civil lawsuit against him and his company for what it alleges was massive fraud over years.

Then, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit granted the government’s request for a stay of U.S. District Judge Aileen M. Cannon’s outlandish ruling that had effectively paused the Justice Department’s investigation into the mishandling of classified documents.

That’s when Trump made things worse for himself.

In a pre-recorded interview with Fox News’s Sean Hannity, he insisted: “If you’re the president of the United States, you can declassify just by saying, it’s declassified. Even by thinking about it, because you’re sending it to Mar-a-Lago or to wherever you’re sending it.”

This, of course, acknowledges that the documents he hoarded were highly sensitive, that Trump knew they were, and that he sent them to Mar-a-Lago anyway.

Former FBI special agent Asha Rangappa called Trump’s remarks the “Secret Telepathic Unilateral Preemptive Irreversible Declassification” - or “S.T.U.P.I.D.” - defense. Others simply called it “insane.”

All true, but most of all it is “typical” and “par for the course.”

Maybe that's why Trump wanted to purchase Greenland. Hey Tangerine Palpatine, because of climate change, Iceland is the one you'd want. Vatnajokull Glacier in Iceland is for now the largest in the world. (Canada has the most land covered by glaciers for now)

Of course Trump could move to Belarus. They have a president and elections, so lots of eastern European women who'd let him gab them by the pussy. On second thought, maybe the Falkland Islands would be better. They have a lot of sheep he could rule.

Politico: Opinion | Trump made New York Attorney General’s fraud case virtually unbeatable

...It’s not hard to see why James is taking such a hard line. She has a winning hand.

...If Trump were facing only the civil suit, his lawyer would almost certainly have permitted him to testify in the deposition with carefully crafted answers. But knowing the risks of his words being used against him elsewhere, he made a decision that will haunt him as James’ suit moves forward.

...When I was federal prosecutor, I frequently prosecuted bank fraud that looked similar to what Trump and his company allegedly did.

I even put away a rich real estate mogul who defrauded his lender.

It’s not an unusual fact pattern to see. What is impressive is the sheer size of the scheme.

Trump allegedly obtained $250 million via fraud over a 10-year period, and the various machinations he used to inflate the value of his holdings was extensive....

1000 years in prison is a long, long time. I don't think it will come to that though.

So, we think Donny is stupid telling Hannity that he can declassify documents by thinking it.

No, he is laying the ground to pleading insanity.

NATION STUNNED TO LEARN TRUMP MAY HAVE COMMITTED FRAUD

NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)—In an event that some commentators are calling the day the nation lost its innocence, millions of Americans were stunned to learn yesterday that Donald J. Trump may have committed fraud.

As news of the New York State attorney general’s fraud lawsuit against Trump spread like wildfire across the Internet, Americans expressed shock and incredulity that one of America’s most successful and respected businessmen might have violated his own high ethical standards.

“I’ve been in a state of disbelief all day,” said Harland Dorrinson, a barber in Cleveland. “He held our nation’s highest office and always conducted himself with such propriety. I pray to God these fraud charges are some kind of mixup.”

Carol Foyler, an insurance agent in Tampa, agreed. “I can't believe he could have gotten involved in shady dealings” she said. “He’s such a smart man. For heaven’s sake, he had his own university!”

Davis Logsdon, a psychology professor at the University of Minnesota, said that it will be important for parents to talk to children who have been traumatized by news of Trump’s legal imbroglio.

“Anecdotally, I’m hearing that kids are taking the news particularly hard,” he said. “They feel as if the rug has been pulled out from under them. If Donald Trump is capable of misleading people, who’s next—Dr. Oz?”
