One of Trump's so-called "lawyers" who wanted to dodge accountability, faces accountability (and disbarment):

https://www.politico.com/news/2023/06/20/eastman-disbarment-trial-trump-election-plan-00102784

Note that this moron also sought a pardon from Trump after the riot. He (unsurprisingly!) didn't get one.

Few interesting stories on The Bulwark today:

https://plus.thebulwark.com/p/whataboutism-scorecard-classified-documents >> comparing the way classified documents were handled between Trump, Biden and Clinton

A twitter video mentioned. One word summary: ouch!

I'll give Trump credit. All that court case grillings he's had taught him how to keep his cool when he should be furious / scared (unnaturally so)

Wow, he had a major meltdown overnight: https://news.yahoo.com/planted-scoundrels-trump-melts-down-160453449.html

Words of a desperate man, who has finally realised the walls just might be closing in on him and all his criminal activity? I hope Congress does absolutely nothing about it.

Anyway, if he really hasn't done anything wrong (which I disagree with) Trump would be found innocent once he's had his day in court, right?

T still says he won too.
After all this, and the number of people who want to make him Republican's top candidate.

Putin should have stuck to his old spy and influence operations.  T will go down has his best.
T, many Oligarchs with key positions and citizenships around the world.

Putin was competing with CCP on influence in Africa too,
with weapons and Wagner, while CCP threatened with more money to spend.
These were amazingly successful and had potential to develop further.

Fostering Nationalist movements around the world, that baulked at the 'Wests' civil rights and open Government.
The quiet long game was winning.
T is still delivering and fostering a whole bunch of T wannabees for the next generation.

Congress, please show Donald Trump how to turn off the caps lock. Then enrol him in toddler 2 class and teach him that you don't have to shout all the time to get attention. Then explain that investigations into outrageous childish behaviour are not capricious and explain to him what the word means. Reassure him that yes, people are out to get him, and the reason is because he is such a monumental infantile dick, the biggest bestest whiniest dick of all time! Give him some spelling blocks that point out the difference between 'there', 'their' and 'they're', and finally, march him out the door, shove a hamburger in his mouth, kick him in the butt, and tell him no-one gives a damn who wins the election as long as it isn't him! Stop him now!

He went from weird upper/lower case, such as capitalizing "STUFF" to full-blown ALL CAPS.

The Guardian - Trump’s push for new sexual abuse trial is ‘magical thinking’...

23 June 2023

Donald Trump’s push for a new trial in the civil case in which a Manhattan jury last month found the former US president sexually abused and defamed the writer E Jean Carroll is “magical thinking”, Carroll’s lawyers said on Thursday.

Trump [has] asked for a new trial after the jury awarded Carroll $5m, saying the damages were excessive because the jury did not find she was raped and because the alleged conduct did not cause her a diagnosed mental injury. ...

Trump’s motion is nothing more than his latest effort to obfuscate the import of the jury’s verdict by engaging in his own particular Trump-branded form of magical thinking,” her lawyers wrote.

"When you're a star, they let you do it."  😒

The NY Times - Is There a Price That Keeps Trump Quiet? ...

23 June 2023

How much money must E. Jean Carroll win to stop Donald J. Trump from talking about her?

A Manhattan jury last month ordered the former president to pay $5 million in damages, $3 million of that for defaming Ms. Carroll when he said her accusation that he had raped her decades earlier was a lie.

The next day, Mr. Trump appeared on CNN, and again accused Ms. Carroll of making up her story and for good measure called her a “wack job.”

Now, Ms. Carroll is seeking millions of dollars more to stop the river of invective. ...

U.S. Supreme Court precedent has suggested that punitive damages should not exceed 10 times the compensatory damages. Using that as a guide, if Ms. Carroll obtained the $10 million in compensatory damages she seeks, a $100 million punitive damages award might be upheld. ...

Anthony Scaramucci, who spent 11 days as the communications director in the Trump White House in 2017 and today is a harsh critic of the former president, said Mr. Trump’s repeated disparagement of Ms. Carroll was right out of his playbook - “double and triple down, never admit you’re wrong, never apologize for anything.

He’s like a washing machine,” Mr. Scaramucci said. “He has a spin cycle, he has a rinse cycle - then he has a repeat cycle.

So his trial could start in December? That would make for an interesting Christmas at Maralago.

The NY Times - As Legal Fees Mount, Trump Steers Donations Into PAC That Has Covered Them

25 June 2023

Facing multiple intensifying investigations, former President Donald J. Trump has quietly begun diverting more of the money he is raising away from his 2024 presidential campaign and into a political action committee that he has used to pay his personal legal fees.

The change, which went unannounced except in the fine print of his online disclosures, raises fresh questions about how Mr. Trump is paying for his mounting legal bills - which could run into millions of dollars - as he prepares for at least two criminal trials, and whether his PAC, Save America, is facing a financial crunch. ...

Mr. Trump is unusually dependent on online fund-raising.

He's going to need as much as he can steal.   🙄

Seems kind of odd that a super-successful billionaire has to use online begging campaigns to cover his legal fees, most of which he'll presumably never pay anyway.
