ROFL Trump is 'obsessed' and 'terrified' of sharks – but his fears are excessive | Sharks | The Guardian

"Donald Trump on Sunday told a campaign rally in Iowa that he would prefer to die by electrocution rather than be eaten by a shark if he ever found himself on a rapidly sinking, electrically powered boat."

"He may be forced to liquidate at a loss because the commercial real estate market is depressed right now."

What a shame.

I wonder if Trump will learn his lesson and actually quote the floor space accurately on Trump Tower, his gold course, ...

New York Commercial real estate debt collapse; how New York city's problems are about to become yours!

In fairness, wouldn't most people rather be electrocuted than eaten by a shark? I know I would.

Don't blame the sharks. Any shark that sees Trump in the water is going to think 'what a big, delicious, fat seal that is'.

Yeh Lois did a few videos on how property NY rental agencies are so used to lying about floor area that they don't see it as lying.
Its just how the market is, you expect that if you measure a space it might be 1/2 as big as we say it is.
Your rent based on $per sqft, you have already noted its double, unless you are dumb and deserve what you get.

Its different if you are then using the 'we just make things up' to taxation authorities.

Looking at some of Lois'es woes in New York.
It seems the problem is they were going after the smaller business.
The little guy had limited legal and accounting resources, would fold quickly, no expensive court cases, we get to seek terms.

Trump for example has been fooling state and federal tax authorities for decades and by all account's wealthy get tax reviews.
It was generational as Fred Trump set this up, but by law even if they wanted to investigate his death cleared the slate again.

It seems that authorities back off due to cost of pursuing further and they will not get political flack as well.
So its back to those in the middle doubly hard to make up.

Republicans I gather have limited any increases in funding for tax department even when they can demonstrate that they return more than they spend.
They know likely there are many Trumps out there that need more resource, but they have cultivated influence.
So big donors get a pass as tax department can't even afford to enforce the easy on rich tax laws they have.

Warren Buffet is no dope, and here is dope directly from him on taxation of rich which is lacking.
https://www.newsweek.com/warren-buffett-who-advocates-higher-taxes-defends-paying-least-among-americas-richest-1598830

Strangely enough America was founded on the idea that the embedded aristocracy, Kings. Princes, Barrons, etc...
The concentration of power and wealth amongst the few was wrong.
Now America has built a system that Favours a small group of wealthy and powerful.

Trump being an example of how this is becoming as fixed and generational as aristocracy founders so abhorred.

BBC: Fact-checking Trump's claims about New York fraud trial
  1. There were no victims (irrelevant)

  2. The case was timed to damage Trump's 2024 campaign (fraud claims began four and a half years ago)

  3. Trump was denied a jury (his lawyer screwed up)

  4. The 'corrupt' justice department is behind this (sigh)

  5. The 'buyer beware clause' renders contracts useless (he wishes)

  6. The judge undervalued Trump properties (Trump claims it's at least 50X more is what got him into trouble in the first place)

  7. Trump did not include his brand in his valuations (he also forgot the value of the air in his tires)

Good point! I wonder why he didn't realise "Hot Air is worth more" too! 🙃

I agree.

Ask anyone's mother if "everybody's doing it" ever got any mother to change her mind.

NEW YORK, Oct 2 (Reuters) - A defiant Donald Trump attacked New York's attorney general and the judge overseeing his civil fraud trial as it began on Monday ...

Trump told reporters before the trial began that the case was a "scam," a "sham" and a political vendetta by James, and during a lunch break called the Democrat "a corrupt person, a terrible person. Driving people out of New York."

He was equally unsparing of the judge, Arthur Engoron, calling him a partisan Democrat who is using the case to interfere with the 2024 presidential election, where Trump holds a big lead for the Republican nomination.

"This is a judge that should be disbarred," Trump told reporters. "This is a judge that should be out of office."

Trump's election campaign used the start of the trial for fundraising, saying he was defending his family and reputation from New York Democrats it called "corrupt tyrants."

A frightened windbag ?   🤥

Corrected version.

I am an ex-president that should be barred from holding any sort of office again Trump told reporters. I am an ex-president who should be in jail.
