With Chief of Staff Mark Meadows flipping against Trump, "sweetheart deals" for witnesses is probably over as the all prosecutors in all cases have everything they need.

So next week looks like it'll be quiet.

Next Thursday NZ time, there will be a fight over the timing of Trump’s federal classified documents trial in Florida. His lawyers have been trying to have the trial put off until after the 2024 election. This case is starting to become irrelevant as everyone's lost faith in a fair trial by the Trump appointed and general dullard judge Aileen Cannon.

Often judges will talk to each other so as to not have scheduling conflicts, but judge Aileen "I love Trump" Cannon has been snubbed by her peers.

Next Saturday NZ time, the Justice Department is expected oppose televising Trump’s federal election interference trial in Washington.

Of course Trump could threaten a witness, jury members or court staff, like the mob boss/child throwing a tantum and wind up in prison, so you never know.

Jack Smith asks court to jail Trump if he keeps yapping about witnesses

Washington Post: Special counsel urges judge to crack down further on Trump’s comments

Special counsel Jack Smith argued in new court filings Wednesday that recent comments by Donald Trump show not only that a federal gag order should be reimposed, but also that the court should weigh stricter sanctions, including sending him to jail, if he keeps talking about witnesses in his case.

The Wednesday night filing was one of four made by the special counsel’s office on a range of legal issues in preparation for Trump’s planned March trial in D.C. on charges he conspired in late 2020 and early 2021 to obstruct Joe Biden’s electoral victory.

In recent weeks, Trump’s public statements attacking prosecutors, court personnel and others have raised alarms among judges who worry that such verbal broadsides might inspire someone to commit violence against the subjects of Trump’s wrath.

Trump has been indicted four times this year: in D.C. on federal charges of conspiring to obstruct the election results; in Florida on federal charges of mishandling classified papers and obstructing government efforts to retrieve the documents; in Georgia on state charges of plotting to thwart the election results there; and in New York on business fraud charges related to hush money payments in 2016. Trump has denied the charges and accused law enforcement officials of pursuing him in the courts to keep him out of the 2024 presidential race, where he has a commanding lead over all his Republican rivals.

At least he can't post anything to social media if he's in prison!

Also, it looks like Daddy's little princess will have to testify as well, after unsuccessfully trying to get out of it: https://www.politico.com/news/2023/10/27/ivanka-trump-must-testify-trial-00123992

https://www.thedailybeast.com/trumps-vanishing-act-why-trump-rallies-are-going-extinct >> it's all just a matter of time, hopefully 🤞

This part is probably what concerns him the most and keeps him awake at night:

Trump still enjoys broad leeway at his campaign events with politically protected speech under the First Amendment. But just because there are plenty of things for him to talk about other than menacing judges, witnesses, and jurors, doesn’t mean they still pack the same punch. And in recent weeks, it seems clear that, between the looming legal peril and his borderline boredom with a healthy 40 to 50 point lead over the rest of the field, something has gone lacking.

Trump fatigue, maybe?

The Washington Post - Hearings begin as Trump critics attempt to kick him off ballots

27 Oct 2023

In two courtrooms 900 miles apart, judges next week will begin to weigh an unprecedented and historic question: Is former president Donald Trump eligible to run for office again given his alleged role in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol?

Starting on Monday in Denver, a week-long hearing featuring witnesses and legal scholars will explore whether Jan. 6 qualified as an insurrection, which could bar Trump from the ballot in Colorado.

On Thursday, the Minnesota Supreme Court will hear arguments about whether an obscure part of the Constitution might keep Trump off the ballot there. ...

The effort hinges on an arcane provision of the 14th Amendment of the Constitution, which was adopted after the Civil War and is renowned for protecting Americans’ civil rights.

The amendment’s lesser-known Section 3 states that people cannot hold office if they have previously taken an oath to support the Constitution and then engage in an insurrection or provide help to the nation’s enemies. It was adopted to prevent former Confederate soldiers from gaining office and using their authority to undermine Reconstruction.

You mean RFK Jr, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., correct? He won't have much effect on either party.

Technically you can be a president in jail, as nothing forbids it.

The case that keeps Trump awake at night, is the New York fraud case. It's evidenced by the only one he voluntarily attends.

In case you don't know
  • he's already been found guilty

  • Trump complains about not getting a jury trial, but his incompetent lawyers filled out the form incorrectly (they forgot to check the correct box on the paper form)

  • he's already had two penalties for failing to observe gag order (social media), with jail time definitely a possibility on the next strike. Trump was humiliated by the last gag order trial.

  • most of his assets are in New York, which also happens to have the strictest fraud laws in the US

  • Trump Jr and Eric are really screwed financially, arguably worse than Trump. Ivanka didn't escape unscathed either, as she'll be forced to testify.

  • assuming he stays out of jail, for a contempt charge, he'll have to put all his extensive New York properties, such as his pride and joy, the Trump Tower, up for fire sale.

  • the real estate commercial market is terrible, so his personal value will decrease by tens of millions at least.

  • he may have a fine of $125 million dollars.

  • an worse for him, it'll knock him off all billionaire lists permanently.

Just to add to the above, I strongly suspect that his New York holdings won't bring nearly as much as people imagine. They have all probably been overvalued and overmortgaged as well. He may well end up in deep debt, if not actually bankrupt.

Just another one to add to the existing pile, right? What is he on already - 6, isn't it?
