Oh for goodness sake stop trolling.
Well lets agree to disagree. Disagreements on a political view is not trolling.
Pumpedd: I wasnt happy to hear she got the job. It is jobs for mates plus she is female.

It's not a "political" view!
rjt123: A review of the health system is not political, it's operational. If jacinda wanted the best result she would have chosen somebody purely for the purpose making the best improvements. Somebody with strong political links like Heather, while might have some relevant qualifications, is likely to have skewed perspectives that let her down when it comes to making the BEST recommendations for NZ.
It's a bit like asking Cullen to run the TWG, of course labour will be happy with the suggestions, but because 'fairer' is very subjective, it's most likely just to be fairer for the 37% of NZ that voted labour, not the majority of NZ.
Obviously we don't expect her to ask Johnathan Coleman to run the review, but I firmly believe a person with lesser political links would be far better.
She will not be doing the review alone or making any decisions. She will be working the sector and submissions will be made to the review by interested parties. She would then be presenting the review and it will be up to the Coalition to accept or reject the review in part or in whole.

Simpson is to Labour, what Fish is to Chips. She has been a Labour party official most of her life and was Helen Clarks Chief of Staff for 9 years and then went to UN with Helen. As one commentator has said..
They might not have the same ring as Thelma and Louise or Simon and Garfunkel, but Helen and Heather have had a more enduring and harmonious partnership than either of them.
Whilst she may be competent as Helens right hand woman, I am quite critical of the appointment as they may as well appointed Helen to the role. This is clearly a political appointment like no other we have seen in recent years for such an important role affecting most NZers.

@Pumpedd you still have not answered my original question, that is....
"would you please advise the qualifications and experience Heather Simpson has and what qualifications and experience she is lacking in order to do the job she has been asked to do? "

I have no intention to add to the trolling you are doing. I have clearly indicated my opinion yet you havnt added to it at all. If you dont think she is a political appointment that is fine by me. If you think she is the the best available person to do this job then that too is fine.

How in the name of Aunt Daisy's Daffodils am I trolling by asking you to expand on your objections to her appointment. I have added to my position on buy saying that I feel she has many years experience at senior government levels both here and abroad and qualified in Economics.
from what you have said quote "I wasnt happy to hear she got the job. It is jobs for mates plus she is female. Just because she was Helens lacky doesnt qualify her to run such a high powered review of the largest organisation in NZ." And you have not elaborated except to add that she is a political appointment your points of objection are....
1. She is female
2. She is "Helens lacky"
3. It's a political appointment.
MikeB4:
None of the naysayers regarding Heather Simpson have presented reasons for their opposition to the appointment.
Well this naysayer does not have too much spare time to spend on Geekzone this week, but you ask a fair question. Most of my concerns have already been shared by others, importantly this being a political appointment. Secondly I have dealt with Helen Clark in her two years as Minister of Health. Although I have the greatest respect for her as PM, her views on health-care left a lot to be desired. H2, I know shared those same ideologies. We have come a long way from those days and our overall provision of health-care services has improved greatly.
Having been overseas for 8 years, I very much doubt H2 would have too much to offer, apart from an outdated political influence and opinion.
Perhaps you might be so gracious as to share an opinion or media comment how or why her appointment could be seen as a positive?
I was completely indifferent but the posts over the last couple of pages do make a good point. What is her expertise in the health sector?
As an aside Minister of Health is probably the worst job in government. Very very few manage to do a good job. Have read bad things about Bill English's stint, and Coleman was simply atrocious which is mildly surprising given he was a GP.

The person selected to these reviews do not need to be from the sector being reviewed, a look through other reviews will show this. It is probably better if they are not as they do not have a vested interest in the outcome. Heather Simpson very experienced. Her selection would have been made with consultation. During her review she will be consulting across the sector drawing on collective knowledge.
Her selection would have been made with consultation with Aunty Helen. I am deeply suspicious of this Government and so far have been proven right.
