In some, the Trump Tower is painted entirely in black and the former president is seen piercing through the screen with blue laser eyes.

I stil find it incredible that working class stiffs in the US look at these billionaires with feelings of anything but loathing.

They are a main contributor to their plight - they aren't the saviours. Yet they can't seem to grasp this.

They're the people that woud deny them simple things like high quality universal healthcare, retirement benefits that aren't suddenly vapourised after they get made redundant, jobs, homes etc.
They'd never welcome their followers into their clubs, or buildings or their hotels. Not as guests.

What a sad state of affairs.

I'm reading a book at the moment called "How to win an information war" It's primarily about the WWII and the efforts and methods of one person, Sefton Delmer, to influence the thinking of the average German. The book also touches on the Ukraine war and also talks about Trump. It looks at how the likes of Hitler, Putin, and Trump persuade large swathes of the population that they are the saviour the population needs. To the point that it is impossible to point out to these people all the incongruity involved. There's some complex psychology going on.

Delmer figured out that trying to influence the Germans in a direct way was never going to work. He used very subtle ways to get inside their heads so that they could be brought to see for themselves rather than having it pointed out to them directly as they would never have believed him.

Having read what's in the book I can see exactly how these "working class stiffs" as you call them put the likes of Trump up on a pedestal. Scary but true.

I haven't finished the book yet, about 1/3 of the way through.

Basically so far the main method seems to be to converse with them at their level agree with their point of view don't say thing that runs too counter to their point of view and able drop in some "truth bombs" which will eventually verified by the recipient. Slowly sewing seeds of doubt.

Get enough doubts and they start to come to their own realisation.

OK. The 'radical left' must be doing something wrong. So many truth bombs have been dropped on Trump his credibility should resemble 1945 Dresden yet 50% of americans still support him.
