With this victory - nay, crushing victory - will Trump be so emboldened as to rewrite the US constitution and get himself installed as the "Supreme Leader" of the Divided States? 
He's already made statements that hint at it. 

 

Will he simply pardon himself of all crimes, make himself completely immune with Presidential Powers and start to eliminate his detractors, as he's said he will? 

 

Freedom of Speech, Freedom of the Press, Bodily Autonomy and gender rights are all out the window. 

 

It'll be a very interesting next 10 years. Hopefully, he has a massive coronary before then and there's an inability to agree on a replacement leader by the GOP and they go back to the polls ,but I can't see it. 

 

Dystopia, here you come.

It's not easy to amend the Constitution. It looks like you need 2/3 of both the House and the Senate to agree on the amendment and 3/4 of the States to ratify it.

Or a convenient emergency that allows you to temporarily suspend the Constitution because you and you alone can save the nation, or enough people in key positions, including, say, the Supreme Court, such that you can change the Constitution without reaching those thresholds or ...

 

The checks and balances only work if you assume that everyone in both big- and little-g government are working in good faith though they may disagree with each other's ideas. If you still think Donald Trump respects the rules, you have been living under a rock.

I also feel for all those university/collage teachers and professors who are now and in the future, going to have to wade through all those; degree, masters and doctorate papers and thesis's about the ‘Trump’ era.  🎓😢




Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

There is no provision for that to happen. If Trump tried it all bets are off. He would have all the nut job anti government militias thinking their time had come.
