With Supreme Court sorted, and any further appointments even more so.
The transformation of lower courts continues with more appointments there as well.

Perhaps with Aileen Cannon as Attorney General.
Unless a more loyal loyalist comes along.

Really there is no need to change the constitution.
As long as its 'interpretation' and 'enforcement' is captivated by 'You'.

If you have your 'Alternative Facts', then you can have the constitutional interpretation you want.

Handsomedan:

With this victory - nay, crushing victory - will Trump be so emboldened as to rewrite the US constitution and get himself installed as the "Supreme Leader" of the Divided States?
He's already made statements that hint at it.

Will he simply pardon himself of all crimes, make himself completely immune with Presidential Powers and start to eliminate his detractors, as he's said he will?

Freedom of Speech, Freedom of the Press, Bodily Autonomy and gender rights are all out the window.

It'll be a very interesting next 10 years. Hopefully, he has a massive coronary before then and there's an inability to agree on a replacement leader by the GOP and they go back to the polls ,but I can't see it.

Dystopia, here you come.

We might hope he'll sit down for an afternoon nap and all the KFC will catch up with him but he's the healthiest president - EVER. Anyhoo if Trump does pop his clogs, Vance will happily cling to power and continue the mission. I gather he's learnt the act quickly.

I also feel for all those university/collage teachers and professors who are now and in the future, going to have to wade through all those; degree, masters and doctorate papers and thesis's about the ‘Trump’ era.  🎓😢

Me too, it's going to be tough to put all the pieces together. 🤣

Is he in prison yet?

Sadly, next to 0 chance of that happening now. He'll promptly get rid of (or delay) as many of the court cases/judgements against him as possible, which I think is pathetic - he thinks he's above the law, and (at the moment) it sure looks like he is.

I really have to wonder what Merchan is thinking this morning. Does he regret treating Donald Trump differently to any other person now? Is he going to sentence him to prison at the end of this month? If so, is he going to send him straight to prison, or suspend it till the end of the Trump presidency (should there be one)?

No matter what happens next, his decision to delay sentencing till after the election made a mockery of justice. I don't think that was his intention, but I personally thought it should have been an obviously foreseeable consequence.

The American voters have spoken, nothing we say or do will change that.

The way it was explained to me by someone who was in the US quite recently and spoke with a lot of people in different parts of the US was they were looking for change. They wouldn't be as much voting for Trump as voting for change. Harris was going to be Biden II and they hadn't done well under Biden. Cost of living was up massively.

They wanted something different. Well they have certainly got that. It just remains to be seen if Trump gives them the change they were looking for.

TBH, this pretty much sums up why the Dems lost... Sneering at you opponents is never a path to understanding...

Harris lost because there is plenty of rage against incumbents these days, and it doesn't take much for a charismatic opposition candidate to drag red meat across the political stage...

bUT The fact that can happen shows how broken the system is... until this is solved Countries areound the world will lurch from one (false) hope to another,

The UK is case in point, they turfed out the Tories, ( with help from BREXIT/Reform) but Labour are already extremely unpopular..

Australia's ambassador to the US scrubs anti-Trump comments from the internet: Stuff

Australia’s ambassador to the United States, Kevin Rudd, has scrubbed comments critical of incoming US president Donald Trump from his online record, as Prime Minister Anthony Albanese government rushes to avoid offending the nation’s most important security partner.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has insisted that Rudd will remain as Australia’s top diplomat in Washington even though he previously excoriated Trump as “the most destructive president in history” and described him as a “traitor to the West”.
...
Speaking to reporters in Canberra, Albanese said he would continue to advocate for free trade even though Trump has vowed to implement tariffs on imported goods into the United States.
...
The Australian federal opposition has said the government should be open to removing Rudd from his post if necessary to ensure the US-Australia alliance is not damaged.

If Australia truly wanted to suck up to Trump appoint one of your all time great Golfers as ambassador.
Trump will just lap it up, finally state business he can enjoy, Oh and make sure he loses.

Kevin Rudd should not worry anyway.

J D Vance his own Vice President has said much worse.

In an October 2016 interview with Charlie Rose, Vance said he was a “never Trump guy” and “never liked him,” just months after he told NPR he “can’t stomach Trump.”

Vance also published an article in The Atlantic in 2016 in which he argued that while Trump “feels good” to many people, “he can’t fix America’s growing social and cultural crisis.”

Vance published an article in the same year in The New York Times headlined “Why Trump’s Antiwar Message Resonates with White America,” in which he wrote: “Mr. Trump is unfit for our nation’s highest office.”

Vance also suggested in 2016 he was inclined to believe a woman who accused Trump of sexual assault, saying on “Hardball with Chris Matthews”: “This is sort of he said/she said, right? And at the end of the day, do you believe Donald Trump who always tells the truth? Just kidding, or do you believe that woman on the tape?”

The people who though Trump were bad weren't going to vote for him. I don't get why the Dems made more noise about how bad Trump was than their own policy platform.

Pitching your campaign at people who are going to vote for you no matter what is a dumb move.

https://edition.cnn.com/2024/11/07/politics/trump-total-power-second-term-analysis/index.html

Outlines how he's removed a number of the guardrails that were in place for his first term. Quite worrying reading.

Trump’s conception of the presidency was encapsulated by his statement in July 2019 that the Constitution gave him untamed power. “I have an Article II, where I have to the right to do whatever I want as president,” he said. Article II lays out the duties of the presidency — but it does not, in conventional interpretations, at least, suggest blanket executive authority.

Trump’s attitude moved then-federal Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to remark in a 2019 ruling, which ordered compliance by former White House counsel Don McGahn with a congressional subpoena, that “the primary takeaway from the past 250 years of recorded American history is that Presidents are not kings.”

Well I exercised the only vote I have in this stupidity...I have voted with my wallet.

Cancelled various US subscriptions already and are actively looking at ways to replace others (eg email, Cloud, etc)

I will buy European made over US made, and I will no longer buy from Amazon and the likes.

Major Bone Spurs wants to run from Ukraine, an actual victim of external violence.
The US injuries are self inflicted and deserve no sympathy or financial support.

I have no intention of supporting the US wealthy while they victimise minorities.
