The NY Times - Trump Administration Will Freeze $2 Billion After Harvard Refuses Demands

breaking

The sequel to my earlier post:

The Trump administration acted quickly on Monday to punish Harvard University after it refused to comply with a list of demands from the federal government that the school said were too onerous.

On Monday afternoon, Harvard became the first university to refuse to comply with the administration’s requirements, setting up a showdown between the federal government and the nation’s wealthiest university.

By the evening, federal officials said they would freeze $2.2 billion in multiyear grants to Harvard, along with a $60 million contract.

Mafia tactics.  😶

Sounds like an AWESOME opportunity for final year law student to get some actual real world work under their belts in helping Harvard sue to hell out of Trump.

Would look awesome on their CVs when going to jobs a prestigious law firms.

Teach them all about using AI for searching documents, etc etc etc.

Sorry you have to be clearer. Are you talking about Russia, China, Mexico or Canada?

or maybe automobile or technology products?

or maybe countries importing Venezuelan Oil? Executive Order 14245 imposed a 25% tariff on goods from countries importing Venezuelan oil.

If you're one of the two or three people in the world that didn't know about this, a few days back Bill Maher had dinner with Donald Trump at the White house. Yes, really.

If, like me, you read these words and said, 'No way, it's gotta be fake news', I'm afraid it really happened. And even worse, Bill Maher was completely taken in by El Presidente.

Here's his report. Prepare to be gobsmacked.

Then watch this psychiatrist's evaluation of Bill Maher's reaction to the event.

'Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.' Voltaire

'A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government.' Edward Abbey

I was thinking about China, but you're right, any of the above could apply 🙂

While he is not bombing schools like his mate does (as well as retirement homes, kindys, apartments and hospitals) he is using economic bombing, as is his current MO

Shame on you. Hurry up mid terms

https://edition.cnn.com/2025/04/14/europe/ukraine-sumy-trump-russia-intl/index.html

“I was told they made a mistake.” This is the way US President Donald Trump characterized Russia’s “horrific” double-tap missile strike on central Sumy, Ukraine, on Saturday, which allegedly used cluster munitions to maximize casualties.

Nothing more needs to be said.

Psychiatrists evaluation is on point apart from Bill Maher being painted as fooled.

No way Bill Maher was taken in, he is not a vacant and unaware simpleton.
We have 8 years of steady increase in crazy and vile words and deeds.
This is not a stain under the rug, its piled high and smelly.

The shot at Zelenskyy is as low and cheap as it gets, after everything including Palm Sunday.

Only question is really what Bill Maher gets, a wider audience, and his house of firebombing list ?

Trump was charming, as it had already been pre arranged that Bill Maher would play his part.
So you softball hard questions and move on, surprised Trump is nice in a kind of theatrical setup for propaganda.

Mr H, Mussolini, Stalin, Mao were said to be similar, disarmingly so when they wanted to be.
Putin also, Trumps envoy like a dog getting belly rubs, the money from Oil and Minerals will wipe the blood off.
The smiling assassin is still an assassin.

So yeh the message is just ignore the deeds, and only look at what he wants you to see.

This threat and a McDonald's fast food worker's paycheck will buy you a few Easter eggs.

Trump warns exemptions on smartphones, electronics will be short-lived, promises future tariffs: The Guardian

The US president has said no one is ‘getting off the hook’, as he promises to launch a national security investigation into the semiconductor sector

The exemption of smartphones, laptops and other electronic products from import tariffs on China will be short-lived, top US officials have said, with Donald Trump warning that no one was “getting off the hook.”

“There was no Tariff ‘exception’, Trump said in a social media post on Sunday. “These products are subject to the existing 20% Fentanyl Tariffs, and they are just moving to a different Tariff ‘bucket.’”

In the post on his Truth Social platform, Trump promised to launch a national security trade investigation into the semiconductor sector and the “whole electronics supply chain”.

“We will not be held hostage by other Countries, especially hostile trading Nations like China,” he added.

Summary: Young hackers are in DOGE team are well known for running afoul of law enforcement, and have no governement experience before working in leadership roles in DOGE.

Edward Coristine known as "Big Balls"

While still in high school in 2022, "Big Balls" operated a company called DiamondCDN, supported a website operated by a cybercriminal group known as EGodly. This group claimed responsibility for various illicit activities, including stealing phone numbers, digital assets, and hacking email accounts.

"Big Balls" reportedly active in 'The Com,' a cybercrime-focused online community. In 2022, he allegedly sought recommendations for DDoS-for-hire services

In 2022, "Big Balls" wprked for a company known for hiring reformed blackhat hackers.

Watkins known as "Myles G Investments"

"Myles G Investments" has a confirmed criminal history. He was charged with kidnapping and robbing a woman at gunpoint. He attributed it to a period of personal turmoil and substance abuse

A whistleblower's disclosure details how DOGE may have taken sensitive labor data: NPR

In the first days of March, a team of advisers from President Trump's new Department of Government Efficiency initiative arrived at the Southeast Washington, D.C., headquarters of the National Labor Relations Board.

The small, independent federal agency investigates and adjudicates complaints about unfair labor practices. It stores reams of potentially sensitive data, from confidential information about employees who want to form unions to proprietary business information.

The DOGE employees, who are effectively led by White House adviser and billionaire tech CEO Elon Musk, appeared to have their sights set on accessing the NLRB's internal systems.
...
Technical staff members were alarmed about what DOGE engineers did when they were granted access, particularly when those staffers noticed a spike in data leaving the agency. It's possible that the data included sensitive information on unions, ongoing legal cases and corporate secrets — data that four labor law experts tell NPR should almost never leave the NLRB and that has nothing to do with making the government more efficient or cutting spending.
...
members of the DOGE team asked that their activities not be logged on the system and then appeared to try to cover their tracks behind them, turning off monitoring tools and manually deleting records of their access — evasive behavior that several cybersecurity experts interviewed by NPR compared to what criminal or state-sponsored hackers might do.
...
the people did not vote for Elon Musk
