Foreign Minister Winston is amazing. If only we could have him all the time.

SJB:
The Israeli government is very anti UN in general.
Which is interesting, since without the UN there wouldn't be an Israeli government since it was the UN Security Council that brokered the Oslo Accords that created their state, which it did by effectively stealing territory from the Palestinian people in the first place.

I'm not a Winston fan, but that speech was very good. He no doubt faced criticism from pro-Israeli groups for it as well, Australia's foreign minister is copping flak from pro-Israeli groups and the Opposition for comments supporting a Palestinian state, because it would "reward Hamas" (unsurprising comments from the Zionist Federation, which are also angry at the Australian government for appointing a special adviser to review the IDF's killing of World Central Kitchen aid workers, which was undeniably the right action and justified as those killed included one Australian citizen. Zionists really do seem to believe that Israel can do no wrong).
How to influence cease fire negotiations Israeli style. Kill the children and grandchildren of the person you are negotiating with.

Iran has launched what appears to be an all-out drone and missile attack on Israel. They are still on the way and haven't reached Israel yet, but it looks like it could be a major escalation. CNN is doing its traditional blow by blow coverage again.

Exactly the reaction Netanyahu wanted. He's going to be pushing to get the US to join in.
Made me think of 1984 (the book) where the government keeps the country constantly at war to make sure the populace stays under the thumb.
Meanwhile it's just another day in the occupied West bank.

The US has already stepped in, and shot down several of the missiles.
If someone doesn't do something about Israel, there's a good chance of another major regional escalation, except this time it'll be the previous victims doing the fascism (hoping that doesn't step too close to Godwin's - hard not to make the comparison given the topic in question).

Compared to the last one, I would be amazing. :P
So Iran threw hundreds of missiles at Israel and not one landed. Embarassing, much?

Most of them were slow drones. I doubt they really thought lots of them would hit - they knew they would be shot down. The real worry is that they might intend to use them to use up all the ready missiles in the Israeli air defenses. They have a lot of very capable ballistic missiles that they could use if they really wanted to start an all-out attack.
They did say this was a 'calibrated response' to the embassy attack. But next time they can do a lot more damage by repeating the drone wave and combining it with a timed ballistic missile strike, if that's what they really want.

It was a calibrated response to the embassy attack (which, incidentally, was a violation of international law). Followed by them saying that the matter is concluded with, at last count, zero deaths. Now would be a good time for both sides to declare victory and walk away, but I doubt Netayahu will :-(.
The Israeli army found an Israeli 14-year-old boy dead in the West Bank, declared it was a "terrorist attack", and as a result Israeli settlers (read: international criminals) attacked Palestinian villages. While it's horrific that children are being killed, at some point someone has to stop Israel because they seem determined to escalate this conflict into another bloody World War.
