The important question is -  Can you tell if someone is lying when they profess to always tell the truth?

Eg.  In her Interview with the New York Times on 08/09/18:

Ardern:

“In New Zealand, we’re really careful about excess,” said Ardern... “I hate the idea of anyone thinking that I don’t put a lot of thought about the cost to taxpayers. I make our ministers travel to events in vans to pool together.”

Contrast with "reality" at her "TEDtalk" event on 16/09/18:

Of course, add to this the misleading over Curran's resignation, the assertion afterwards that she's been asked a different question, the doctoring of the transcript by the PM's office to suit her story, and now this.

One needs to ask;  Is this Dishonesty or Incompetence?

@6FIEND to be honest I just don't know anymore. It's annoying, confusing and depressing.

The thing is, if she didn't make these claims, very few would care they turn up in crown limos. It's the fact she doesn't seem to understand that what she says is increasingly not a reflection of reality.

She doesn't really know what's happening half the time I don't think.

They have to use the Limos for security and I don't have an issue with it. Just be honest as to why they spend the way they do and can their BS. I really do not believe that JA is in charge, she is a puppet.

I would agree , She is our Prime minister and I don't have an issue with limo's , I would not want to see our people turn up in a van. As said just be honest.

She more or less has a plane in the  RNZAF Boeing 757-2K2. She could also use the RNZAF Beech King Air B200 for around NZ.

Maybe she did make them travel in vans but nobody obeyed.

...and her response to this simply takes the cake!

She denied she was confused.

Ardern:

"I know what I was talking about. Unfortunately the question I was being asked was something else."

@networkn I think Rob Muldoon, Geoffrey Palmer and Mike Moore still have the lead for that title but she is closing the gap fast

I have no real memory of the first 2 and Mike Moore is a VERY distant memory indeed. I might have been like 5-8 years old then?

I was in school and had a keen interest in politics when Muldoon became PM, what a train wreck.
