This reminds me of the Trump thread.

It did me too - especially the part where I pointed out that David Seymour was trolling "SJW"s as a political stunt, then out of the woodwork came a supporter who made probably the most misogynist statement I've ever read on GZ.

The ACT party should be an example to the Green, who sold out cheap on their voter base choosing to play second-fiddle to NZF despite being equally pivotal in the arrangements.

As someone who voted Greens at the last election, please elaborate further how they sold out cheap on me?

What key environmental policy have Labour taken on board in return for the greens support?

And what about the kermadec sanctuary?

Oh sorry that's right, you've got the Cannabis referendum you've been waiting for for years...

You sound shocked that not everyone agrees with your perspective.

I was in the process of writing a long reply to your previous post, clarifying my views but then I thought that it's not exactly the correct thread and it didn't need to be drawn out any further.

And now it seems Joyce has rage-quit after missing out in the leadership vote and the drama with Matt Hooten/NBR over the weekend.

As a frequent national voter I have never thought much of Joyce as an MP or Minister.

Glad to see him go.

He is thought of as a bit of a super brain. I think he is a loss.

I'm not saying he was perfect, but with English and Joyce gone, a fair bit of Nationals Economics knowledge has gone with them.

His intellect was useful, his public persona and leadership style were not.

Probably more that he could see that his political career had plateaued. I don't think it was an infighting thing, simply if his aspirations were for leadership then having missed his opportunity it would be pointless to hang around.

National were considered a 'safe pair of hands' for the economy, but with English and Joyce both gone they have lost a significant amount of experience and knowledge. Not that it can't be replaced, but it takes time to rebuild.

He's last generation, John and Bill are gone and he was on the slide. And let's not forget his "fiscal hole" blunder.. what a balls up. His political stock was toast, no point in sticking around (hint hint Gerry Brownlee, Nick Smith etc).

It's far too early to determine if his prediction of a hole is correct or not.

That's true, opinion was divided if there was a 11 billion hole or not.

All the financial experts said there wasn't. Joyce said there was.

Missing out on the leadership? or missing out on the leadership and then did he miss out on finance as well?
