JayADee:
freitasm: Trump sign things without knowing what he is signing

Skip to the part where he didn't realise what he was doing when signing the changes to the security council...

Ahh, this bit:
But for the moment, Mr. Bannon remains the president’s dominant adviser, despite Mr. Trump’s anger that he was not fully briefed on details of the executive order he signed giving his chief strategist a seat on the National Security Council, a greater source of frustration to the president than the fallout from the travel ban.

I didn't know that.

Hard to know what's going on but some kind of circus for sure. To my mind it's also likely Trump did not really know what the National Security Council was at the time, or this is just a play to avoid taking responsibility. Either would be normal now.

Rikkitic:

Here is an interesting item about the rise of ignorance. I agree with the points made here, but am amazed at them. I have always seen the Internet as a wonderful and virtually unlimited knowledge resource. How it could have been twisted in such a way makes me think we should just give up and let the dolphins take over.

The Hitch-Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun.

Orbiting this at a distance of roughly ninety-two million miles is an utterly insignificant little blue green planet whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea.

This planet has – or rather had – a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn’t the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy.

And so the problem remained; lots of the people were mean, and most of them were miserable, even the ones with digital watches.

Many were increasingly of the opinion that they’d all made a big mistake in coming down from the trees in the first place. And some said that even the trees had been a bad move, and that no one should ever have left the oceans.

I'm sure you are already aware "Donald Trump will not be allowed to address Parliament on UK state visit, Speaker John Bercow says."

The speaker said, 'opposition to racism and to sexism and to equality before the law and an independent judiciary are hugely important considerations in the House of Commons.'

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/donald-trump-uk-state-visit-speaker-address-parliament-a7565651.html

Also, an editorial in Germany calls for European countries to band together to protect democracy and freedom in a very strongly anti-Trump article.

All empty threats as I see them. Unless they go through with them Trump will always win because he never cares about empty threats aka "diplomacy".

That one surprised me. The Speaker is a member of the UK government Conservative Party.

Sadly, I have to agree.

The first article tells us that the Brits despise Trump.

The second article tells us that the Germans despise Trump.

Therefore both articles are Fake News and will be ignored.

In the case of the UK speaker, it's not a threat. He means it 100%. Now it's down to UK constitutional processes and the government to see if there is a workaround for the lack of that signature.

I'm thinking the UK govt will essentially cave to avoid a spectacle and have Trump speak in some other suitable location if not the parliament.

Possibly a blessing in disguise for Trump anyway. There was always a risk some of the more radical MPs would yell their way through it. George Galloway is no longer present I'm assuming the UK has others.

I am just waiting for Donald "I wear suits two sizes too big for me" Trump to start a Department of Truth to pronounce upon what he determines to be the truth.

What an imbecile.

The buildup of extreme anti Trump from other, and significant nations is a good thing. He has embarrassed the US, with him at the helm the US has ever decreasing credibility. But, should he automagically be removed from office, all that will be resolved. That is quite a carrot for the growing numbers off Republican officials, and the courts to dwell on. This isn't a fairly weak President who over the last 14 months has made mistakes. He has moved his campaign to the Oval Office, and all this in 17 days. I think many felt he would calm down, make mistakes, etc. Its a good thing he is this bad, otherwise he would be there for four years. He is ruining his country in a matter of less than 3 weeks, its a farce. 12 months.

The UK speaker is a lefty ********** who is not fit to be an MP much less Speaker. It's high time he was biffed. I wouldn't trust a word the man says.

It's a statement of fact. He's a deeply unpopular Speaker by modern standards who has called the office into disrepute on a number of occasions and  made some very iffy decisions regarding the spending of public money.

Donald Trump has yet to do a single thing I would object to, so that really won't work as an insult if you intended it to be one.
