MikeB4: The Green Party is in rebuild mode. They are looking to their futue, they would get savaged in the next election if they joined National, their voters and many of their MPs would see it as a betrayal
I would support the Greenies .......... if they moved away from the Lefties.

Oh - the position he's found himself in means we can be pretty sure who the next Deputy Prime Minister of NZ is - long before we'll know who the next Prime Minister of NZ will be.
Hahaha. Brilliant observation .......... and so true. Yup, been there, done that. Let's hope it falls into place quickly.
Except apparently it's wrong. Peters denies he's interested in deputy PM role.
Actually that's bad news - as he could have been bought by either party - and may have abandoned some of his "bottom lines".

Move on Mike!

Which according to Winnie's definition is quite correct. He is not "interested" in the deputy PM role ..... But he will gladly take it to ensure some of his bottom lines. Winnie is a very good negotiator.

networkn:Interesting comment but like many other comments you have made you haven't got a clue. I would suggest that if your attitude displays, what ever National do its okay with you I hope you can look in your families eyes and tell them and tell them that you can accept the sort of behaviour that National displayed throughout the campaign
gulfa:
I am still not telling you who I voted for That is only my business. Words Of wisdom from my 12 year old grand-daughter "Why cant we take the best of policies from all parties"
I never asked, but one would have to be blind to not know who you voted for ;)
I didn't see a response to Greens-National, how would that sit with you ?
I don't believe National got the majority of votes because they lied, I think you are being naive if you think that. I think Labour asked for too much trust in a very short period of time. If National form Government this time, Labour needs to show what it did in 6 weeks, for 2.5 years, and much more clearly define policy prior to announcing it. This gives them their best chance. They need to find a compromise with Farmers, and businesses.
I now also will no longer respond to your narrow minded response.

A greenie is a booger! A leftie is a person who writes and does stuff with their left hand, normally uses left hand finger to remove greenies
I'm a leftie.

If the Greens focused just on the environment (like they should be doing), then any political party, lefties or righties would always be too willing to include them in government.

Are you for real? I nearly choked on my tea when I read this.
You must be implying that Metiria Turei is a saint then? All our parties have their issues and bad behavior. National are just the best of a bad bunch, kinda like a comparison between Trump and Hillary. Both stink, Trump not as much, but still stinks.

Ok fair enough, I just hate labels having been subjected to them
No problem. Being a stutterer that cannot help but jump up and argue when I feel the urge to put my point of view across, I find most people have just moved on when I finally get going!
The post election behavior of the parties is more important now.
Winston Peters enjoying his 5 days of fame every 3 years.
Probably trying to get Jacinda to install him as PM.

Winston will take the best offer. He wants PM. But he may only get DPM. But he's not talking to anyone. Or so he says. Don't trust Winston.
1. He will get some of his policies through either way
2. Bill has slapped him yet again calling him a maverick
3. Peters, Bennett, Joyce in a meeting???
4. JA, no history, Parker/Davis/Little gets on very well.
Labour/Greens is the easier option, Nats will be a battle from day one. Too much bad blood
Its mainly about a deal, but its also about working together as much as they can
I think Paula Bennett will be sacrificed to the back benches in order to get a deal with NZF.
