Probably more so than in NZ, where councils can relatively easily bring in their own bylaws. Obama though can't be happy to see some of his laws reversed. In some ways I do wonder if the US wouldn't be better served if it was broken up into different sections, as it does seem be be a country divided. If anyone has watched or read Man in a High Castle, it is about the US divided up into sections, if Germany had won WWII, and is quite interesting.

Maybe as he is very very good at it. And no need to bother wasting time with his policies that are voter friendly but difficult to implement. I cannot wait for the 2020 three live debates. I want to buy the words rant and tweet for the royalties

That wasn't a "meeting". LOL. That statement / question is also a logical fallacy - so I'm not answering it - I'm sure you know the answer - but you are not making any point, just being argumentative and contrary.

Here's a checklist which predates Trump's appearance as a political force, so you can't argue that it was made up to suit the Trump administration agenda:

Of the 14 defining concepts, Trump scores a hit on every single one. It may not be a bullseye in every case, but he's well on the board.

Defending him by saying that in isolation he hasn't been (and hopefully won't be) able to achieve his goals doesn't change the ideology. He hasn't the authority to do anything directly about limiting the free press - and hopefully will remain hindered by the constitution. Likewise "the wall", the mass deportations, defunding the UN, weakening Europe / NATO, removing human rights protections, increasing military funding, intertwining of populist religion with politics, business/government relationships etc etc. Plenty of obstacles exist.

In Arizona, IIRC, a law has been passed by GOP controlled state senate stating that anybody involved in organising a protest which turns violent can have their assets seized, and new power to arrest protesters even before anything happens.

I don't expect you'll change your view until creeping fascism reaches a point where it's almost too late to do anything.

Is Trump a fascist? Possibly not 100% - he is however working as expected by Bannon and the alt:right, as a "blunt instrument" capable of pushing through their agenda. If they do manage to achieve their agenda, then it's too late to do anything.

I don't believe the "rules" and definitions for political leaders apply to Mr Trump, he is not and never will be a politician. He is a showman, a salesman and a risk taker, he is a savvy boardroom operator and knows how to operate in the corporate environment extremely well. He is a very politically naive leader and as such is open to covert management by others and that is apparent and that is the real danger. I do not consider him a Fascist he more fits the Populist badge.

You need to research Bannon - not Trump. Yes - I agree Trump is a populist and a fool. When I refer to Trump, I really refer to the whole Trumpist thing. And it is "a thing" which is unprecedented in western democracies for a very long time.

Trump (and his antics) is a distraction, a tool for Bannon's alt:right, which is absolutely fascist.

I think you are confusing Trump with someone like Steve Jobs. Trump is very good at maintaining the illusion that he is successful but the record is less impressive.

I dont see this victim as a result of Trump. Sad as it is, this person has illegally entered the US 6 times since 2007, deported 6 times also. He has been deported under Bush and Obama, and this Tuesday Trump, whose been in power 4 weeks
