From https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2022/02/latest-on-covid-19-community-outbreak-parliament-protest-saturday-february-19.html

Brian Tamaki's daughter Jamie Warren, speaking at Parliament on behalf of the Freedoms and Rights Coalition, has laid out a list of demands for the Government.

In a statement from the coalition - which praised her for bringing "strong and decisive leadership to the protesters", Warren laid out her four key points:

  •     End the mandates by March 1 2022
  •     Negotiation on March 1 with the Government on behalf of the protesters and the New Zealanders who support them
  •     A clear end date to the COVID-19 Health Response Acts and all its amendments
  •     Jobs reinstated to those affected by the mandates, and the back pay of wages lost as a result of them

Warren warns if the Government do not revoke the mandates, then Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern needs to resign and new elections be called.

"This has now gone beyond an arm wrestle to have the mandates removed, as the next chapter in this epic struggle for political change and the fight to get our country back, has just begun," Warren said.

My take on her points:
- Why March 1? What's so special about that date? Is it her birthday?

- How many Kiwis really support the protest? They're still a small (but very loud) minority. Are they trying to hold the Government to ransom?

- Again, why a specific end date? The virus isn't going to just go away because she doesn't believe in it. You may not believe a tiger is going to maul you at the zoo, but that won't stop it from doing that, will it?

- She can absolutely get stuffed. I made the decision to do the right thing for the community, why should they be rewarded for not doing the right thing too?

Sorry if I sound ranty, but this is just ridiculous, and I don't believe the PM should resign if these bunch of morons don't get their "demands" met. Who's going to run the country? Them??? God help us all. I would move if these clowns were in charge.

NZPCA twitter account pushed an anti-mandate tweet out not so long ago:

It's odd that organisation uses a logo very similar to the offical NZ Police logo. NZPCA above is not affiliated with or funded by the New Zealand Police.

Gary served his community

Gary appears to be on a domestic flight without a mask for some reason.

Gary is a moron, who threw away his years in the Police force for...why didn't he want the vaccine again?

I just wish the media would stop giving oxygen to morons like this, it makes me think it only emboldens their cause and makes them all want to start making a song and dance about it.

In other news, some cars have started being moved: https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2022/02/police-begin-to-clear-up-blockade-near-anti-covid-vaccine-mandate-protest-at-parliament.html

Apparently Cristopher Luxton just says we need a 'De-escalation Strategy'.
So pretty much ok with the inaction by the police so far ?

Seems much stronger action needed, but does he have a foot in their evangelical insurrectionist camp ?
A vote is a vote, and most are the godly ?

Wealth church Evangelicals seem to be the financial backbone of this, thus money and organization.
Toss in the links to USA TRumpy, Bannony, Qanony groups for some patronage,
Brian Tamaki's Harleys freighted in and all.

Only after the number of vehicles involved doubled, apparently.

According to Coster on Q&A, police didn't have sufficient resources to continue making arrests like they did on the first Thursday, so they stopped.

It was patently obvious that this was going to explode in numbers if it wasn't dealt with before the weekend, and by this point the protestors had already been issued a trespass order. So why police not resourced to enforce the trespass order?

I find the comparisons to Ihumato and the BLM protests in Auckland really on the nose, given that none of these involved blockading a capital city and parliament buildings. He also says this activity at parliament is 'unprecedented', so that raises further questions about whether resources were sufficient to actually deal with it.

Isn't unprecedented another word for 'I'm hopeless at planning for the worst case scenario or adapting to an evolving situation'.

The Protect Pūtiki protesters were arrested pretty quickly, but of course those protesters were inconveniencing wealthy boat owners who wanted somewhere to park their expensive yachts.

I mean he's technically correct in that no, we haven't seen it before, but I would have thought that would heighten the need to resolve it before it could get massively out of hand like it did over that weekend. Apparently the occupation of parliament grounds doesn't trigger a certain level of response, just a 'let's see how this plays out' which I find pretty staggering tbh.

The burning question of the freedom protest sponsored by leading evangelical groups, all the nicest people on the planet.

In Webworm by David Farrier.

Should we bring back public executions ?
Its a strange question to ask but a growing number of people are asking it.
Should we bring back public executions? (webworm.co)

There was this previously posted on sovereign citizen lot.
The Brainworms of the Wellington Protestors (webworm.co)

As someone running an innocuous community news channel found out.
Being beaten by the nicest most peaceful god fearing people.
Well its much like being beaten by anyone.
