Sidestep: Venezuela was formerly big producer of heavy crude but sanctions by the US have decimated their production, Iran's out of the picture - I wonder where they're planning to source it from?

Biden has sent envoys to Venezuela for that purpose. Perhaps the energy issue will provide impetus for resolving the nuclear related issue with Iran.

Sidestep:

Poland's finally given in. They're going to give all their MIG-29's to Ukraine.

Poland's looking pretty heroic here (compared to say - Orban's Hungary)
They're flooded with refugees, and taking more while they and Romania, to a lesser extent, have become logistics and supply hubs - a  conduit for weapons, supplies and manpower to Ukraine.

They've both got to ride a fine line and not do anything that looks like direct involvement in the war.
So the planes will be flown to Ramstein Air Base in Germany, and rebranded as US aircraft in order to to keep Poland and Polish airbases officially clear of repercussions.

Excellent. So Russia will declare war on Poland and then NATO will action.

Ease up on the war mongering. They are trying to support Ukraine without provoking a madman into nuclear escalation.

At a minimum, the western IFF systems would have to be replaced by the original (Russian) units.  I wonder if the original units are sitting in a warehouse somewhere, apart from those taken apart by western intelligence agencies, or Ukraine have spares to fit.

However, it Looks like the US are getting cold feet.

Exactly this. This how they going to get them into ukraine ?, As soon as they enter ukraine they will be enaged, or the place they land at will be attacked. But then again Russias special millitary operation seems be incompetent.

Unless they intend to be based outside ukraine to attack ? Which would be clear interference according to putin. It Seems like Poland is trying to bait USA into a direct conflict.

They will be UKR aircraft, but I dont get why they will be rebranded with US markings? Should be UKR markings

As to baiting, well, yeah I get that, but all the rest of the weaponry they are being given is from other countries too, and that seems to be ok

Planes.
Transfer via US to decouple from nervous Poland and NATO, so USA takes whatever direct risk.

Intent was always for planes to be based with others in UKR, armed, serviced etc there.
So they would also have crossed the border unarmed as well I expect.

UKR is apparently flying very limited missions with precious few it has now.
I guess there are some long straight multilane motorways built in soviet era that are handy.

Much like other lethal aid, its subject to elimination by Russia.
Tons crossing the border secretly somehow in very large volume at the moment.

Its dancing on pins considering the 1000 or more assets destroyed by aid from multiple countries.
Pirate code and all. What's happened in other conflicts etc.

Putin has even threatened Nukes for sanctions.
Attacking NATO now with so many assets committed, stuck in Ukraine and vulnerable needing re-enforcement, well ... For Putin giving such orders is easier than surviving giving them.

His cronies are not on a suicide mission even if he is.
Cronies also have deniability, it was all big bad Putin, we were scared of him till we were not.

Anyway people at risk make decisions, and Putin might die laughing at west tying itself in knots.

Nothing like it. This comes from Poland trying to avoid being a party to the conflict as much as it possibly can at this time.

How does one acquire those lovely blue and yellow ribbons worn by Ukrainian politicians? s it permitted for non-Ukrainians to wear them as a sign of support?

Poland,
They are going quite always out on that limb, and no doubt want to see others sharing the load.

Politics in Poland has been a bit frayed, and it depends on how politicians see it will go down with public.
There has been  bit of EU friction, too, and with UK leaving, and there is no inspiring leader ?

Ukraine supposedly had guarantees and Polish public may be a bit skeptical until the see more steel behind NATO.
During the T era confidence in NATO was undermined, and Germany with years of underspending.
USA was offered $2Billion to put in a permanent base in Poland and T naturally declined.

Current situation has been years in the making, and there are multiple problems combining here.
Putin has been cultivating allies in political spectrum of many EU countries for the day.
Or at least groups that will fight each other, making unity difficult.  Old Soviet KGB stuff.

You forgot to mark this as a joke. Otherwise you risk some nutjob finding this one sentence and go all QAnon with it.
