I think there's some space to even think we could apply Hanlon's Razor: "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity"

I feel what happened was people were sick of all profit no caring, no influence and no gain following the GFC. The US had widely diverse outcomes during and post GFC . Trump seized on that, worked out his target audience and played them.
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I am not convinced that the Russians had and significant influence on the US election, it is likely that they tried but their success was probably limited. As for the Manchurian Candidate thing I don't buy that.
I disagree.
While I'm not convinced that there was collusion between Trump and Putin, I'm totally convinced that that alt:right movement, anti-liberalism, anti "globalisation", and anti-democratic "discussion" is heavily influenced by Russian interests - if not from the Kremlin directly, then by interested parties closely associated with the Kremlin.
The "blogosphere" has significant influence on political outcomes. I believe also in NZ.

And people were naive enough to believe Trump would care for them, help them. Yeah, it's not gonna happen folks. Just look at the shambles that their health care proposal is.

From what I've been reading about the USA so far, they are fast becoming Russia.
Military/Science/Spies stronger than anyone, and the President wants to do whatever the &^%$ he wants.
I'm gonna savour the book The Operator while they're still the good guys. Mostly. Mind you there might be things in the book that was exactly the reason why Trump was voted into power. They really should've given the candicacy to Sanders. Too late now.
He's trying to fix his country.
We get to watch a soap opera unfold.

I think that the Russian connection is symptomatic rather than causative. The alt.right faction of the billionaires club has stolen the election from the mainstream billionaires. Lots of alt.right billionaires in Russia.

Hanlon's Razor doesn't apply in the case of someone who is both malicious and stupid. ![]()

Hmmm, I seem to remember that a certain previous prezi was undone by white house recordings.
Fred99:
Anybody - foreign leader, diplomat, business person, whoever - better be aware that POTUS secretly records private conversation, then when it suits him, the POTUS may threaten to use those recordings to blackmail them.
Totally unacceptable.
It's perfectly legal to record a conversation that you are a party to, with or without the knowledge or consent of the other party.
An honest person would have nothing to fear, except perhaps excerpts being played out of context. An honest man might even have his own recordings so that the full conversation could be heard.
